Taharqa has ordered that a military outpost be created at Migdol, on the eastern side of the Nile Delta, to prevent incursions of Assyrian troops.
One thing you must learn about this mission: Weapons is the most valuable export in the game, along with Luxury Goods, so sell off as many weapons as you can. It will pay off in many of the missions that it can be sold in :)
Migdol is a timed mission and all tasks must be completed within 7 years, so there is no time for making fancy layouts or nice looking cities. You need to build literally everything possible as quickly as possible, get a fort for Archers and Infantry fully staffed and get exports of Weapons and Papyrus to meet the Prosperity rating. Many people who play this mission tend to fail because they've wasted time trying to make a nice city and ignored the Prosperity rating or have only just remembered about it too late into the mission for them to be able to succeed.
The map already includes a walled area with roads for you to build everything, so keep your city within the walled boundaries as Taharqa only wants a population of 1000 people and you can easily get that with two rows of housing fully evolved to Spacious Homestead (you cannot build any Scribal Schools or Libraries). Make sure to have 3 Lettuce and 3 Chickpea Farms on the flood plain, next to the road placed there. Ignore the trade route for Enkomi because it will close after the 2nd invasion and is the only water based trade route and ignoring it means you don't need to mess around trying to place a Dock in the small harbour area you have available.
There is some fish but the fishing grounds are quite a distance away from the main settlement you will build and, unless you are having problems with food shortages, don't bother with it much. I only built a couple fishing wharfs just so the houses would stop devolving and dropping the population count below 1000.
You will get two requests for food to Men-nefer (Memphis) but they are relatively small and fulfilling them will give you 13 free weapons for exporting or for use if you need them. It is recommended just to export every weapon you make after getting a full fort of Infantry.
Once you've met the objectives, it's a simple case of keeping them above the requirements and waiting for the mission to end. In survival missions like this one, the mission only ends when the time runs out and not when you get all objectives and the Cleopatra expansion has lots of missions where you either have to survive a set number of years or to complete the mission within a set number of years. In missions like Qadesh, you have a set amount of time to complete it, but the mission will end anyway if you get all the objectives done quicker. AFAIK, Maritis is the shortest mission of all Cleopatra based levels but luckily it does not require a city as large as Migdol and is quite simple to complete.
Ending Note: Apologies for the audio desynch near the beginning. I actually recorded this while I was on my 2 week holiday so I was using my laptop which wasn't really the greatest. It sync's up later though :)

50,000 soldiers of Persian army supposedly perished in a sandstorm in ancient Egypt 2500 years ago after Conquest of Egypt [Battle of Pelusium (525 BC)].

Cambyses was the son of Cyrus the Great. Following Cyrus' conquests of the Near East and Central Asia, Cambyses further expanded the empire into Egypt during the Late Period. From Egypt, Cambyses attempted the conquest of Kush, located in the modern Sudan. But his army was not able to cross the deserts and after heavy losses he was forced to return.

Isidore of Pelusium was born in Egypt to a prominent Alexandrian family.He became an ascetic, and moved to a mountain near the city of Pelusium, in the tradition of the Desert Fathers.Isidore is known to us for his letters, written to Cyril of Alexandria, Theodosius II, and a host of others.A collection of 2,000 letters was made in antiquity at the "Sleepless" monastery in Constantinople, and this has come down to us through a number of manuscripts, with each letter numbered and in order.

Pelusium
Pelusium was an important city in the eastern extremes of Egypt's Nile Delta, 30 km to the southeast of the modern Port Said, becoming a Roman provincial capital and Metropolitan archbishopric, remaining a multiple Catholic titular see.
Location
Pelusium lay between the seaboard and the marshes of the Nile delta, about two and a half miles from the sea. The port was choked by sand as early as the first century BC, and the coastline has now advanced far beyond its ancient limits, so that the city, even in the third century AD, was at least four miles from the Mediterranean.
The principal product of the neighbouring lands was flax, and the linum Pelusiacum (Pliny's Natural History xix. 1. s. 3) was both abundant and of a very fine quality. Pelusium was also known for being an early producer of beer, known as the Pelusian drink. Pelusium stood as a border-fortress, a place of great strength, on the frontier, protecting Egypt as regards to Syria and the sea. Thus, from its position, it was directly exposed to attack by any invaders of Egypt; it was often besieged, and several important battles were fought around its walls.

Taharqa has ordered that a military outpost be created at Migdol, on the eastern side of the Nile Delta, to prevent incursions of Assyrian troops.
One thing you must learn about this mission: Weapons is the most valuable export in the game, along with Luxury Goods, so sell off as many weapons as you can. It will pay off in many of the missions that it can be sold in :)
Migdol is a timed mission and all tasks must be completed within 7 years, so there is no time for making fancy layouts or nice looking cities. You need to build literally everything possible as quickly as possible, get a fort for Archers and Infantry fully staffed and get exports of Weapons and Papyrus to meet the Prosperity rating. Many people who play this mission tend to fail because they've wasted time trying to make a nice city and ignored the Prosperity rating or have only just remembered about it too late into the mission for them to be able to succeed.
The map already includes a walled area with roads for you to build everything, so keep your city within the walled boundaries as Taharqa only wants a population of 1000 people and you can easily get that with two rows of housing fully evolved to Spacious Homestead (you cannot build any Scribal Schools or Libraries). Make sure to have 3 Lettuce and 3 Chickpea Farms on the flood plain, next to the road placed there. Ignore the trade route for Enkomi because it will close after the 2nd invasion and is the only water based trade route and ignoring it means you don't need to mess around trying to place a Dock in the small harbour area you have available.
There is some fish but the fishing grounds are quite a distance away from the main settlement you will build and, unless you are having problems with food shortages, don't bother with it much. I only built a couple fishing wharfs just so the houses would stop devolving and dropping the population count below 1000.
You will get two requests for food to Men-nefer (Memphis) but they are relatively small and fulfilling them will give you 13 free weapons for exporting or for use if you need them. It is recommended just to export every weapon you make after getting a full fort of Infantry.
Once you've met the objectives, it's a simple case of keeping them above the requirements and waiting for the mission to end. In survival missions like this one, the mission only ends when the time runs out and not when you get all objectives and the Cleopatra expansion has lots of missions where you either have to survive a set number of years or to complete the mission within a set number of years. In missions like Qadesh, you have a set amount of time to complete it, but the mission will end anyway if you get all the objectives done quicker. AFAIK, Maritis is the shortest mission of all Cleopatra based levels but luckily it does not require a city as large as Migdol and is quite simple to complete.
