Cancrime is one the few blogs/websites dedicated to covering Canadian crime, criminals and the justice system. Established in September 2008 by award-winning investigative reporter and author Rob Tripp, the site includes a substantial archive of confidential prison/police documents and parole records. A companion podcast that features exclusive interviews launched in 2016. In some cases, Cancrime is the only online source of some documents related to notorious criminal cases and infamous criminals. The site has steadily grown in popularity and now attracts an average of more than 85,000 page views per month, according to 11.5 months of tracking of the site by webalizer – some months the site draws more than 100,000 views (visits in the screenshot below approximate page views – data current through to February 9, 2017):
