Having just heard of Gretchen’s Wheel--the project of Nashville-based Lindsay Murray--I have to say I’m impressed by her dark, mysterious, slightly ominous voice, perfectly suited to her abstract yet deeply personal lyrics. In March she released a new album, Sad Scientist, but she’s since released a free EP entitled awry, featuring five unreleased numbers that are much darker than her album.
