Just wondering what happens with your WAM and the subjects you have done if accepted for a transfer?

Can you choose which subjects you want to credit towards the new degree (if you have done worse in 1-2 subjects than others), or are all the breadths, etc. credited to Commerce once you transfer?

Is your WAM reset and it all depends on your performance in the new degree, or does your WAM for the old degree matter if you credit some subjects?

Thanks :)

Does anyone know if any form of consulting or law on campus recruitment take place at the unimelb parkville campus?

As the title suggests I've only done 5 first year subjects this year, however the ones that I have done are prerequisites for the second year subjects I want to do, how do i proceed?

Am I able to mix and match first and second year subjects? Should I just take a semester doing three first year subjects that won't be part of my major? Or can I just overload for the next three semesters?

Stop 1 has been pulling me in circles and I won't be avaliable to do a summer term so any other advice would be great,

Cheers

The invigilator wrote down my student number because I forgot to put my watch (perfectly old watch btw) under the desk. Fucking hell, she said not to worry but should I be worried? Sighh

Does anyone know how likely it is to secure a room in the Student Village? I've applied for a 4 bedroom room - the website stated that rooms were 'limited' but I contacted the support team and they said they were not offering anymore contracts and so they put me on a waitlist. I've just checked their website again and it has changed from 'limited' to 'waitlist'. Would be so appreciative if anyone could ease my mind, i'm stressing out over accommodation.

Thanks

I want to do this subject over the summer for 2019/2020, I'm just wondering for those who have done it, it it achievable to do this, or is it more wishful thinking? Thanks for the help

Hi all, currently doing a B.sci and looking for a last level 1 breadth that is easy to allow me more time on my other subjects.

I've read up on both and both seem fairly easy (Micro being more maths focussed I believe?)

I'm pretty confident with my maths (completed calc 2 and LA). Would micro be easier for my situation or should I just stick to BLaw?

Thanks!

Don't really want to become an actuary anymore but I've finished my 2nd year and my parents and I figure I might as well finish this degree first. However, if the failure rates for 3rd year subjects are high, I'd rather just drop out now then risk failing subjects and having to do extra semesters.

I am applying to unimelb and universities in the UK for bachelor of commerce, and wanted to know any differences between attending uni in Australia vs Uk

Generally, how is the student culture and vibe of unimelb (considering I am an Australian citizen but don't reside here)

Is there a feel of a campus uni or is unimelb full of students who just come for lecturers and go home.

Other than Australia, which countries are a majority of the students from?

Hi guys, I’m a commerce undergraduate student and plan to major in Accounting and Finance. I’ll be taking Intermediate Financial Accounting ACCT20002 on summer 2019 and recently found out that corporate financial decision making CFDM FNCE20005 also open in summer term. I need both to be able to take the 3rd year compulsory subject, therefore do you think that doing both in summer term is a wise decision? The lecturer for IFA2 in summer term is Danny Tan and Andrew Easton for CFDM. Thanks

Just wondering could someone who has taken this subject before provide some insight and review in terms of workload, subject structure and difficulty? Is it suitable for someone who has no background in Latin at all?

Thanks in advance :)

Feeling a bit anxious, especially as everyone else has already finished. Does anyone know roughly how many people take their exams in the supplementary period?

Is one drastically harder than the other? I had a hard time with COMP10002, so i want to do the easier one.

On a side note; unimelbs website has completely removed the page for major in informatics. Im starting my 2nd year and i was planning on doing informatics. Anyone know what that means for me?

Is MAST20004 Probability strictly harder than MAST20006 Probability for Statistics?

Which one should I choose if I am going to a Data Science major and could anyone explain the major difference between the two for me.. Cheers

I personally felt easy on the probability stuff when I was doing VCE but that seems too easy compared to the uni ones,

and I am still confusing whether to choose data science or Statistics major for my BSc

Is Engineering and systems design 2 doable in summer? It's my first semester here and ESD 1 didn't really go well because of its complications and a lousy team. Also is ESD 2 a scoring subject?

I am currently a Monash student pursuing the Bachelors of Accounting programme (Business Specialist degree) and just completed my first year. I'm thinking of transferring to UniMelb because of the prestige, but I would also like to know the differences between the two - which is better for accounting and why. Would really be great if any of you fellas can share some insights/opinions!

Much Appreciated,

Hey guys. I’m looking for a level 3 arts elective that is relatively easy (or at least, not mind bogglingly difficult) to take that isn’t a language or an internship. I’m thinking of CRWI30001 as I’m interested in creative writing in general but I’m worried that the assessments and marking scheme will be too objective. Either that or CULS30002 because that intrigues me. Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks!

Hi,

I'm a student in the United States looking to study abroad for a semester at either USyd, UNSW, or Unimelb. I'm a mechanical engineering major, by the way.

I don't know if this is in anyone's area of expertise, but a big part of which uni i choose is going to be whether I can take 5 courses instead of the normal full load of 4. This is imperative for me because I need to graduate on time and that's going to be a lot harder if I get behind in coursework.

I know that Unimelb lets their students overload, but I was wondering if they let their international exchange students do so as well.

Additionally, I'd appreciate insight on what you think about the Mechanical Engineering programs at USyd, UNSW, and Unimelb and which one would be the best program to go to.

Thanks so much!

I had a few questions about the mid year intake (Semester 2) for bachelor of commerce

Generally how many students enroll into unimelb during Semester 2?

Does joining in semester 2 affect the subjects or units that you can take since everyone else would already be done with the same units

How does accommodation for mid year intakes work?

And any thoughts on the unimelb and bachelor of commerce in general

I failed the hurdle requirements for my final subject (Declarative Programming), as I submitted the second assessment very late and don't meet the 15/30 for project work.

My marks before the late period is applied are reasonably good, about 70% for the first (not submitted late) and 80% for the second (submitted late), and I'm confident I can get a passing mark at least maybe ~60%? on the final exam.

I've looked at the failing final subject notes online, but they seem to apply to final exams only. I'd really like to graduate this year! What should I do in this situation?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi,

I was dumb and I missed the census date for my subject payments and I was withdrawn from all my subjects - I've just paid it but I was wondering if the withdrawals would be reverted.
