Funny cat photos, trending news stories, and the best discussions on the internet—these are just a few of the awesome things the official Reddit app does best.
On Reddit, there’s a community for every subject imaginable: your favorite sports team, relationship advice, memes, the latest in news and politics—all in real time.
And if you like gifs (or jifs, jiffys, glyphs, ifs, however you choose to mispronounce it), we’re positive you'll love it.
What’s that you say, girl? “What about a community dedicated solely to images of cats standing on their hind legs?”
We got that, too.
Whether you’re into movies or space travel, baking or weight training, cheesy dad jokes or more NSFW humor, world news or Hollywood gossip—or all of the above—you can instantly share your content and ideas with an audience of millions.
We’re not saying Reddit is like all your favorite apps put together. But if we were saying that, we’d tell you it has:
• the trendy headlines of Twitter
• the educational content of Quora
• the viral pics of Memebase and Imgur
• the jokesters of Tumblr
• the lols of 9GAG and theCHIVE
• the cringeworthy personal stories of FML and Fail Blog
• the rage comics of fourchan
• and the powerful, human stories found only on Reddit.
(Oops, we went full circle.)
So the next time you’re bored and need a break—wait, you’re bored right now? Why are you still reading this? Download the app already!
Those cats won’t stand on their hind legs forever...

For some reason my app has a really hard time connecting to the internet, a problem I don't have with any other app. Lots of glitches. Sometimes I'll click on a post and it will take me to a completely different post. Probably 75% of the time when I search something I get a "try again" message.

App is fairly solid in terms of how user-friendly it is and how much like the actual website it is. However it's incredibly slow and crashes approximately every 15-25 minutes regardless of what I'm looking at or how stable my internet is. Very disappointing. Will be going back to Reddit is Fun

Reddit on the computer works great, but since the last few updates the app's search function is completely broken. It refuses to search and insists that it can't connect to reddit. The fact that you can only use the front page of the app heavily stunts its use and degrades it to a much worse version of 9gag or Imgur

•I can't arrange my subreddits in categories using this app, I'm without pc so, it's accumulating a lot of subs to organise later. •I can't see the replies in my phone, it leads to the comments but not to the response, so I have to lurk and open a lot of reply sections to find it. •Also when I oppen some hidden replies, the page goes back to top and I have to scroll all the way back. •With this new upload I oppen the videos and it doesn't play at all, I oppen images in fullscreen and I have to scroll to go back the previous page.

A recent update got rid of the ability to automatically travel to a specific comment when you click on a notification regarding that comment. This makes the comment system almost unusable. I don't want to search through every comment on the post to find the comment that I commented on that someone else then replied to. It's a pain. Seriously this is a simple fix, and you've updated the app five times since causing this problem. This is unacceptable. I'll rate 5 star if this bug is fixed.

Every single day this app breaks! My connection is totally fine yet the search function constantly fails and sometime it can't ever connect to the front page, yet all my other apps never have any connection issues. This app is trash.

The new update applied has severely stunted the utility of the app itself. For starters, to open a thread, I have to press about two inches above it on my phone screen. Also, the app takes a while to load anything when it does work at all.
I love reddit, but the app constantly crashes regardless of whatever I do to resolve it. In addition, it frequently refuses to load up reddit, and will time you out if you are on a slow network. Searching subreddit also hardly ever works. These points need to be addressed for the app to gain more than 4 stars.
Since it came out it is hugely improved. My two issues are that when clicking on an image/gif it goes full screen so I have to tap twice to go back. The biggest issue is that on three occasions the link I click took me to a different subreddit. I made sure that I carefully selected the corrected link and it happened again.
I used to love this app. Working terribly now. Trying to open comments for one link opens the comments on a completely separate link sometimes. They've also gotten rid of functionality that made it simple to use, such as tapping on a comment thread used to shrink said thread. It's shameful really, especially since this is the OFFICIAL app. Uninstalled.
Doesn't rotate with phone. Can't use it in landscape mode. The mobile website just works; better use that instead of this app. Wish they'd get rid of the obnoxious "we want the best for you" nag screen though. Being told about this broken app every single time the website loads gets old fast.
Reddit. The place so full of rules and socialism, you'd swear it was 1940's Berlin. After you dodge all of the crap, it becomes a good place to discuss anything and everything. There app sucks though. It never works right, and crashes constantly.
Still no fix for the issue regarding replying to comments. If a comment is in a collapsed thread, trying to go to it will just take you to the top of the post. I have yet to see ANY word from the admins that they even acknowledge that this is an issue, let alone that they are trying to fix it. Rating will remain at 1 star until this is fixed or at least addressed. On top of it, the app now randomly crashes after the newest update.
The last three updates have consistently made things worse. It must be internal sabotage. I'd much rather have a stable app, but instead you give us fancy animations and an app that will no longer load anything including the front page. God, next you'll require us to use a separate app for messages.
The more it gets updated the worse it gets. Can't death anything because it never works and one I load any of the pics I'm trying to look at I have to exit the whole app to get out of them.
The developers are really struggling to create a stable app. There's a new bug every update that affects the experience far too much. They are fixed and updates are regular, but the app is not solid yet.
This official app is by far the worst out of all the other reddit apps I e seen. I can't even load a damn page wtf
This app can't save preferences or even hold my place in the comments after I click a link. Really bad for continued browsing. I wish they hadn't killed redditisfun because that's where the most user friendly experience came from.
Since the update the app is crashing a lot, which is really frustrating as it's usually when I'm a good way down the front page, so when I reboot it I'm back at the top again. Irritated!
Asp used to be great, last update has it crashing constantly, which in turn leads to 5 minutes of scrolling to get back to where I was. It's incredibly frustrating, so I'm uninstalling until it's fixed.
They fixed the 'my comments' tab being messy but now they broke responding to comments in large threads. Half the time it loads the entire thread and doesn't direct to the response. Also collapsing comment chains is buggy keeps sending you to the top.
I was just fine until the app updated an hour ago. Now I can't log on. I've uninstalled and reinstalled twice. What's wrong now?
App has come a long way since its initial release when it was extremely buggy and prone to crashes. Unfortunately the unofficial Reddit apps are still better in terms of UI.
GIF heavy subs never work. They always fail loading after 3 GIF's. It's always been bad, but it's gotten even worse... Image browsing is a chore as well and everything but smooth.
My only real problem with the app is commenting and replying. It's a big problem if you do anything beyond infrequent posting and commenting. For example, you post a comment on a Reddit story and later someone replies to your comment. Except there's no way to get back to that specific comment chain. Both the push notification from the reply, or going to your "comments" list only bring back to the top of the post. You'd have to then scroll through the entire list of comments (which could be in a completely different order from before if time has passed) and hope you can manage to find your comment. It's pretty dumb
NEW UPDATE HAS A HARD TIME CONNECTING: Cant even use reddit now. Seems like im not the only one. Connection: WiFi & 4G. Still cant load reddit. Uninstalled but still the same.
It was great. As of the last update, it now crashes often when I've never had it crash on me once before. Besides that, it's pretty user-friendly and has a nice layout.
When i click on a link and try return to the thread it resets to the top of the page. Still gets stuck on images though. Almost back to being great!
Click on a post and scroll a while. then if you click on a link and try to go back to the post it resets to the top. There is always connection issues when searching. Everything else is good
Reddit is not "Top Trending Content". Its about communities with specific goals, intentions or intrests. Top "Trending" crap is for Twitter and as such the "Popular" Tab should be taken away.
I was having issues with it crashing constantly and refusing to show me comment replies. NOW, it won't work AT ALL. Nada. Nothing. Seriously annoying. Crappy, crappy app.
Before the update, it gave me a screen telling me that it couldn't open anything. After the update, I still couldn't open anything. It was just a blank page. On my other device, it works fine. On my mobile, it's not working at all.
Can't easily access subreddits you're subscribed to. Layout is awful. Third party apps and browser are infinitely better than this app
Disable post suggestions by default. if someone wants them, they can enable them. I will update my review when things are more stable. Please don't fall for short sighted development tactics
The app is so buggy it's not funny. When you receive a comment or reply, clicking no longer takes you to it. Wading through 1000s of comments to find a single thread is annoying at best. Trying to "view more replies" on a nested thread doesn't work, the replies just collapse and leave no where to click on view. Search feature is awful as opposed to desktop reddit. Just no thanks.
It is good.. But a little bit complicated and had so many many instructions. But I think after awhile you will be familiar with it.
The main. problem I've had with the app is the ability to sort content by using the new function, where instead it will either show post from random points in time, or it'll start with the oldest post, never shows post from. newest to oldest
The night theme is so hard to work with. I can barely read the gray text and there's no spacing between posts anymore, so it's hard to differentiate between two listings
when it works, it's great. but it hardly ever loads anymore, and is always crashing when it does load.
Why is it so hard so you to search posts? Always telling me you have trouble getting to Reddit and no matter how many times I retry searching , it ends up the same. Please fix it. It's really annoying.
