Lost Boyz
Lost Boyz is a hip hop group from South Jamaica, Queens, New York City. The original group members were lead MC Mr. Cheeks, backup MC and promoter Freaky Tah (1971–1999), DJ Spigg Nice and Pretty Lou.
Recording career
In 1995, the group released their debut single "Lifestyles Of The Rich & Shameless", charting on the Billboard Hot 100. The release landed them a record deal with Uptown Records. The group contributed a single to the Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood soundtrack, titled "Renee". The song became a major hit, breaking into the Top 40 on the Hot 100 chart. The single also reached Gold status in 1996. On June 4, 1996, they released their debut album Legal Drug Money. The work was highly acclaimed, and the album featured five Hot 100 hits, including their past singles "Lifestyles of the Rich & Shameless", "Renee", as well as "Music Makes Me High" Which was Remixed By Platinum Producer Frankie Cutlass, "Jeeps, Lex Coups, Bimaz & Benz" and "Get Up". The album was certified Gold by the RIAA in late 1996. Their second album, Love, Peace & Nappiness, was released on June 17, 1997 on Uptown/Universal Records. It featured another Hot 100 hit single, "Me & My Crazy World". One of the most famous songs on the album was the posse-cut "Beasts From The East", featuring A+, Redman and Canibus. The album wasn't as acclaimed as their debut, but fared well commercially, reaching Gold status in late 1997 said by Money L of LB Management.

Universal Music Group, Inc. (legally known as UMG Recordings, Inc., abbreviated as UMG) is an American-French worldwide music corporation that operates as a subsidiary of Paris-based French media conglomerate Vivendi. History
Early history
Universal Music was once the music company attached to film studio Universal Pictures. Its origins go back to the formation of the American branch of Decca Records in 1934. The Decca Record Co. Ltd. of England spun American Decca off in 1939.MCA Inc. merged with American Decca in 1962. The present organization was formed when its parent company Seagram purchased PolyGram in May 1998 and merged it with Universal Music Group in early 1999. However, the name had first appeared in 1996 when MCA Music Entertainment Group was renamed Universal Music Group. The PolyGram acquisition included Deutsche Grammophon which traces its ancestry to Berliner Gramophone making Deutsche Grammophon UMG's oldest unit. UMG's Canadian unit traces its ancestry to a Berliner Gramophone breakaway firm the Compo Company.

Legal Drug Money
Legal Drug Money is the debut album by hip hop group Lost Boyz, featuring members Mr. Cheeks, Freaky Tah, DJ Spigg Nice and Pretty Lou. The album, released on June 4, 1996, features five hit singles: "Renee", "Music Makes Me High", "Jeeps, Lex Coups, Bimaz & Benz", "Get Up" and "Lifestyles of the Rich & Shameless". The album sold well, peaking at number 6 on the Billboard 200 and number 1 on the Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums. It was certified Gold by the RIAA on August 7, 1996.

Ah well, another week, another great show and jam. It was a part of our monthly music series at the historic Burnt Ramen. This one was guest booked by the invisible Jesse Townley … which is like having an invisible midwife! Of course there was the usual stress of producing a show…like getting an e-mail an hour before we were leaving for Ramen from Jesse saying that two of the bands … hey, let’s name names … Triclops and Monster Squad … had just canceled (the depth of non-professionalism!) … but Jesse got another band. I wrote back that I was looking forward to seeing (being with) him. But he turned out to be invisible.
The first band, Salem Lights, was your basic good rock’n’roll band. And I did your basic rock’n’roll interview with them. But after their powerful set, they embarrassed themselves by packing up and sneaking out within five minutes after saying they would play in the jam. A lot of people just do not get community building, being physically there to support one another … which is basic to the Ramen philosophy … which John the Baker and I took the opportunity to discuss on camera. Damn, one reason why I always show up is not to give people an opportunity to trash me behind my back on camera!
Then I turned my attention to the band Jesse just got us that morning, The Sweet Nothings (Dddave, Adam, The Rev. Dusty Danger, and Rob-ot). They are rather cute, sweet guys playing what they call “drive-by/country punk.” The interview turned out to be a deep hour-long exploration as they guided to Ramen, via a cell phone, their lost drummer, Danger. It turns out they have grown up seeing our fliers around town. So they were excited to be finally playing with us. They were determined to jam with us … especially after Salem Lights flaked … even after finding out they might have to be nude for the jam. They are pure addicts of playing music! They did an hour set, extremely high energy and just plain fun! And during their last song they all stripped to their underwear in preparation for the jam! (They dressed for the jam.)
To start the jam, Dr. Gruve on harmonica, John the Baker on the roto-toms, and I doing vocals set down the concrete for the jam for a few minutes. Then The Sweet Nothings charged the stage (hey, I’m still playing with 20-year-olds!) … as Linda, Erika, and I started singing together … nude skin rubbing me between them warm friction turn-on arousing as the Ramen dwellers Jaren and Sierra drummed arousal into reality. It didn’t let up for an hour.
What I can say? Everybody was blown out! The last time we saw The Sweet Nothings, they were listening to the cd of their set in their van … which can be fatal in that neighborhood! And Da Boyz are going to weather-proof the space … foreseeing a long run for the series. Oh, what people miss when they don’t show up … or stay!

What I can say? Everybody was blown out! The last time we saw The Sweet Nothings, they were listening to the cd of their set in their van … which can be fatal in that neighborhood! And Da Boyz are going to weather-proof the space … foreseeing a long run for the series. Oh, what people miss when they don’t show up … or stay!

Ah well, another week, another great show and jam. It was a part of our monthly music series at the historic Burnt Ramen. This one was guest booked by the invisible Jesse Townley … which is like having an invisible midwife! Of course there was the usual stress of producing a show…like getting an e-mail an hour before we were leaving for Ramen from Jesse saying that two of the bands … hey, let’s name names … Triclops and Monster Squad … had just canceled (the depth of non-professionalism!) … but Jesse got another band. I wrote back that I was looking forward to seeing (being with) him. But he turned out to be invisible.
The first band, Salem Lights, was your basic good rock’n’roll band. And I did your basic rock’n’roll interview with them. But after their powerful set, they embarrassed themselves by packing up and sneaking out within five minutes after saying they would play in the jam. A lot of people just do not get community building, being physically there to support one another … which is basic to the Ramen philosophy … which John the Baker and I took the opportunity to discuss on camera. Damn, one reason why I always show up is not to give people an opportunity to trash me behind my back on camera!
Then I turned my attention to the band Jesse just got us that morning, The Sweet Nothings (Dddave, Adam, The Rev. Dusty Danger, and Rob-ot). They are rather cute, sweet guys playing what they call “drive-by/country punk.” The interview turned out to be a deep hour-long exploration as they guided to Ramen, via a cell phone, their lost drummer, Danger. It turns out they have grown up seeing our fliers around town. So they were excited to be finally playing with us. They were determined to jam with us … especially after Salem Lights flaked … even after finding out they might have to be nude for the jam. They are pure addicts of playing music! They did an hour set, extremely high energy and just plain fun! And during their last song they all stripped to their underwear in preparation for the jam! (They dressed for the jam.)
To start the jam, Dr. Gruve on harmonica, John the Baker on the roto-toms, and I doing vocals set down the concrete for the jam for a few minutes. Then The Sweet Nothings charged the stage (hey, I’m still playing with 20-year-olds!) … as Linda, Erika, and I started singing together … nude skin rubbing me between them warm friction turn-on arousing as the Ramen dwellers Jaren and Sierra drummed arousal into reality. It didn’t let up for an hour.
What I can say? Everybody was blown out! The last time we saw The Sweet Nothings, they were listening to the cd of their set in their van … which can be fatal in that neighborhood! And Da Boyz are going to weather-proof the space … foreseeing a long run for the series. Oh, what people miss when they don’t show up … or stay!

Mani Nasry an exceptionally talented filmmaker, actor and artist with a sophisticated breadth of education, skills, experience, and professional accomplishments. He trained as an actor and director in New York with Salem Ludwig and with Donna DeMatteo for playwriting. For Mani, the decision to work in the film industry guided his academic decisions from an early age. He attended a Toronto high school renowned for excellence in the arts, and was accepted into one of the highly competitive film program at Ryerson university. It is notable that he went to Ryerson with an already well-established career in theatre, film, television and commercial work, and a range of multi-faceted achievements including producing, cinematography, casting, writing, directing, acting, and editing. On his own he added stints in New York and Los Angeles with leading acting teachers, as well as learning the grace and style of many forms of dance and athletics. With courses perceptively, he has also recognized the importance of acquiring an understanding of the business side of the industry, and the varied aspects of technology and production. There are some people clearly born to follow the path they have chosen from the start. Mani Nasry has the passion to succeed, the curiosity and ingenuity required to lead and collaborate in an industry known for its impact and appeal, and the strength of character and work ethic to immerse himself in finding and telling an unforgettable story.
