Half of australians don't understand the laws and rules around rentals then. The rental laws are very specific about fixing stuff. Ive had lots of things fixed by the landlord. They didn't like doing it but they were required to.
Who forced the landlord to make the repairs?
Me and the RTA. Its considered a breach of contract if repairs aren't made. I had a landlord refusing to fix an oven as i could use the microwave. Quick Call to the RTA, and a quick email referencing tenancy laws. Oven fixed within 2days. Know your rights as a Tennant and be prepared to fight them. Its good fun as the landlords don't expect someone to know the laws. Same landlord tried to up the rent more than cpi. We negotiated an amount in line of cpi.

People thought Morrison was good in Immigration only because no one was allowed to ask him questions.
