This is the full extended version of the film I had the honor of making for the National Space Society to promote NASAs New Horizons spacecraft and its historic reconnaissance mission to Pluto and its system of moons on July 14 2015 - the very first exploration of this system in human history.
I got to work closely with the missions principal investigator Alan Stern and I am grateful for his and the rest of his team's confidence in me to make this film.

IRM / A/V PERFORMANCE by BRUNO RIBEIRO / 35mn / 2014 / HD
IRM is an audiovisual performance by Bruno Ribeiro, aka Nohista. IRM which is French for MRI, refers to a medical imaging technique that provides 2D and 3D views inside the human body. The performance aims to transform the venue into a gigantic scanner. The audience is at the heart of a sensory experience where light becomes an abstract and musical body, flickering in an unstable universe.
The artist mixes video footage of a dancer with computer-generated sounds and graphics, resulting in a performance designed as a luminous and synaesthetic choreography. This digital doppelganger of the dancer is no longer a representation of a human body, but an abstract kinetic sculpture of her own feelings and fears, which eventually dissolve into the void.

Human
Modern humans (Homo sapiens, primarily ssp. Homo sapiens sapiens) are the only extant members of Hominina clade (or human clade), a branch of the taxonomical tribe Hominini belonging to the family of great apes. They are characterized by erect posture and bipedal locomotion, manual dexterity and increased tool use, and a general trend toward larger, more complex brains and societies.
Early hominins—particularly the australopithecines, whose brains and anatomy are in many ways more similar to ancestral non-human apes—are less often referred to as "human" than hominins of the genus Homo. Some of the latter used fire, occupied much of Eurasia, and gave rise to anatomically modern Homo sapiens in Africa about 200,000 years ago. They began to exhibit evidence of behavioral modernity around 50,000 years ago, and migrated in successive waves to occupy all but the smallest, driest, and coldest lands.
The spread of humans and their large and increasing population has had a profound impact on large areas of the environment and millions of native species worldwide. Advantages that explain this evolutionary success include a relatively larger brain with a particularly well-developed neocortex, prefrontal cortex and temporal lobes, which enable high levels of abstract reasoning, language, problem solving, sociality, and culture through social learning. Humans use tools to a much higher degree than any other animal, are the only extant species known to build fires and cook their food, and are the only extant species to clothe themselves and create and use numerous other technologies and arts.

The performance aims to transform the venue into a gigantic scanner. The audience is at the heart of a sensory experience where light becomes an abstract and musical body, flickering in an unstable universe.
The artist mixes video footage of a dancer with computer-generated sounds and graphics, resulting in a performance designed as a luminous and synaesthetic choreography. This digital doppelganger of the dancer is no longer a representation of a human body, but an abstract kinetic sculpture of her own feelings and fears, which eventually dissolve into the void.

On Sunday June 1, FIBER and Flemish Arts Centre de Brakke Grond hosted the seventh edition of Coded Matter(s), titled Extended Senses.
Intelligent technology grows around us and towards us as an extension of the body, both visible and invisible. The computer has migrated from lap to pocket. A wave of networked watches, glasses and implants is launched at technology trade shows and with the use of sensors we're now able to explore our environment in ways we couldn't before. What are the possibilities of these new developments? And what are the dangers?
During Extended Senses, artist talks, installations and demonstrations allowed us to experience the possibilities and dangers of these developments. Listening to plant conversations, seeing the data created by your body or playing a game with your own muscles. Artists, designers and scientists demonstrated how human senses are being expanded or applied differently, how previously invisible processes of man and nature can be made visible, useful and even aesthetically pleasing.
Our videographer Tanja Busking made this video report of the day and evening programme, in which the participating presenters, performers and creators of installations explain their work and vision of the future. Sit back and enjoy.

Narrated by Danny Glover with music by Green River Ordinance and Enric Sifa, "At the End of Slavery: the Battle for Justice in Our Time" is a 31-minute documentary that takes the viewer inside the ugly business of buying and selling human beings, from the brothels of the Philippines to the brick kilns of India. Once inside, you learn that the enduring feature of slavery throughout the ages is violence, deception, and exploitation of labor and lives.
The film, shot in the Philippines, India, Cambodia, and the U.S., includes under-cover footage taken during police operations to rescue children from brothels and slave-filled brick kilns. Leading abolitionists, including Ambassador Mark Lagon of Polaris, Gary Haugen of International Justice Mission, and Kevin Bales of “Free the Slaves” are profiled in the film and discuss the challenge of ending slavery with passion and energy.
Paradoxically, At the End of Slavery is a remarkably optimistic film. You learn about sex trafficking, for example, from little girls who have suffered it, but you also experience liberation through the experiences of children and adults who once were slaves but now are free. Hope and optimism come not only because of their triumph over adversity, but because of the success of law enforcement in finding victims and apprehending perpetrators. IJM’s investigators, lawyers, and social workers and their clients show that there is nothing inevitable about slavery. IJM’s Gary Haugen describes moments in history that are a “tipping point,” and says, “We are closer than we know.”
"At the End of Slavery: the Battle for Justice in Our Time" links today’s anti-slavery movement to the ending of trans-Atlantic slavery and the civil rights movement in the United States. It is a clarion call to every viewer to join the movement to end slavery in our lifetime.

SPASIBO is a short-film made in reaction to the homophobic law in Russia, which came into force the 17 of march 2012 in Saint Petersbourg. Today, the law is extended on the entire Russia.
The film get the Special Prize for human rights at the Cinema and Human Rights Film Festival, Amnesty International, Paris 2012.
Clément, a French actor, goes to Saint Petersburg to participate into a film festival. When he gets there, he realizes he has disappeared: nobody can hear him and see him. He meets Andrei, a Russian gay who lives the same thing.

This pavilion houses the work of contemporary brazilian artist Adriana Varejão. The building was designed by architects Rodrigo Cerviño Lopez, Fernando Falcon and Eduardo Chalabi. Concluded in 2008.
Opened in 2006, the Inhotim Institute in Brumadinho, Minas Gerais, Brazil is a centre for contemporary arts. Houses artwork from brazilian and international artists in several pavilions, galleries and throughout its gardens, which were conceived by Roberto Burle Marx.
This is part of a continuous experiment, a solitary study, on transposing the language of architectural photography into video. The reference to photography is clear, with many takes with a fixed camera, and few movements (also due to my lack on experience on that matter). As the objective is the understanding of the architectural project, the takes are several seconds long – always more than five. The human figure is essential, as it demonstrates scale, axis, paths and possible interactions between man and building. The recorded sound, of low quality and subject to wind noise, was replaced by a soundtrack, which then based the editing process.
Recorded with the Canon 5D Mark II and TS-E 24mm lens. Edited in Final Cut Pro. No color grading. Soundtrack by 'The Cinematic Orchestra'.

The CREATEDESTROY campaign, developed by WE ARE Pi, photographer Corriette Schoenaerts and artist Guido Verhoef, highlights thetwo-sided personality of Ideas Worth Spreading ahead of the online-streamedTEDxAmsterdam event on 30th November.
Artist Guido Verhoef blew up 15,000 balloons to reveal the true face of human nature in a thought provoking Idea Worth Doing for TEDx Amsterdam. For the upcoming event, speakers and the audience will enter the theme ‘Human Nature’ to explore who and what we are, how do we think, feel and act. What are ourlimitations, and how can we overcome them? The TEDx Talks, hosted at Amsterdam’s Stadsschouwburg theatre, will be broadcast live online to the world.

What kind of experience and thoughts in the past impact on you?
ABRAHAM K HANGUL F/W 2014 COLLECTION starts from the two questions above and tries to depict a lot of factors which are created in the past and effect to human lives in the present, such as experience, thoughts, memories, and especially, ‘WAR’ – the expression of conflict.
Human being has been expressed conflicts through numerous wars from the beginning till today.
Those conflicts were because of ethnic or ideology in a larger sense, and because of various private reasons that a person has in a smaller sense. And, those wars accorded victory and triumphant senses in various figures to the survivors and made them to live today strongly. On the other hand, the survivors got another figure of fortitude in order to live in the present – which might be even more painful than butchery, torture, mental & physical aftereffect, etc. coming from war.
In this F/W 2014 COLLECTION, ABRAHAM K HANGUL wants to depict memories & signs of war unconsciously carved in someone’s body and soul just like MEMENTO, as professional & tough modern women for ABRAHAM K HANGUL through using high-quality of Denim, Leather, Fur, etc. with the theme of MILITARY MEMENTO.

What is it that makes us human? Is it that we love, that we fight ? That we laugh ? Cry ? Our curiosity ? The quest for discovery ?
Driven by these questions, filmmaker and artist Yann Arthus-Bertrand spent three years collecting real-life stories from 2,000 women and men in 60 countries. Working with a dedicated team of translators, journalists and cameramen, Yann captures deeply personal and emotional accounts of topics that unite us all; struggles with poverty, war, homophobia, and the future of our planet mixed with moments of love and happiness.
The VOL.1 deals with the themes of love, women, work and poverty.
In order to share this unique image bank everywhere and for everyone,
