An athlete (American and British English) or sportsman (British English) is a person who competes in one or more sports that involve physical strength, speed and/or endurance. Athletes may be professionals or amateurs.
Most professional athletes have particularly well-developed physiques obtained by extensive physical training and strict exercise accompanied by a strict dietary regimen.
The word "athlete" is a romanization of the Greek: άθλητὴς, athlētēs, one who participates in a contest; from ἄθλος, áthlos, or ἄθλον, áthlon, a contest or feat. It is the general term for all participants in any physical sport; its application to those who participate in other activities, such as horse riding or driving, is somewhat controversial.
An "all-around athlete" is a person who competes in multiple sports at a high level. Examples of people who played numerous sports professionally include Jim Thorpe, Lionel Conacher, Deion Sanders (male), Danny Ainge (male) and Babe Zaharias (female). Others include Ricky Williams, Bo Jackson, and Damon Allen, each of whom was drafted both by Major League Baseball and by professional gridiron football leagues such as the NFL and the CFL. Japanese athletes such as Kazushi Sakuraba, Kazuyuki Fujita, Masakatsu Funaki and Naoya Ogawa have successfully competed in both professional wrestling and mixed martial arts.
Street workout is a physical activity performed mostly in outdoor parks or public facilities. It originated in Ancient Greece, but became a popular movement in Russia, Eastern Europe, and the United States, especially in New York City's urban neighborhoods. And now it has spread all over the world. It is a combination of athletics, calisthenics, and sports. Street workout is a modern name for bodyweight workouts in outdoor parks. Street workout teams and organized competitions exist.
A typical street workout routine often consists of physical exercises such as pull-ups, chin-ups, push-ups, dips, muscle-ups, sit-ups and squats. Street workout also involves some static (isometric) holds such as the human flag, front lever, back lever and planche.
Street workout can be divided in two branches being one strength training and the other dynamics, strength training includes the isometric holds like: planche, front lever, back lever, etc also strength training includes single arm pull ups, hefestos, muscle-ups and many others. Dynamics includes movements like 360's and its variations , switchblades, and an incredible variety of tricks developed by the athletes which are connected with other moves in order to create routines or sets.
The 2016 Summer Olympics (Portuguese: Jogos Olímpicos de Verão de 2016), officially known as the Games of the XXXI Olympiad, and commonly known as Rio 2016, are a major international multi-sport event that will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from August 5 to August 21, 2016. Record numbers of countries and sets of medals are awaiting in the games. More than 10,500 athletes from 206 National Olympic Committees (NOCs), including from Kosovo and South Sudan for the first time, will take part in this sporting event. With 306 sets of medals, the games will feature 28 Olympic sports — including rugby sevens and golf, which were added by the International Olympic Committee in 2009. These sporting events will take place on 33 venues in the host city and additionally on 5 venues in the cities of São Paulo (Brazil's largest city), Belo Horizonte, Salvador, Brasília (Brazil's capital), and Manaus.
The host city of Rio de Janeiro was announced at the 121st IOC Session held in Copenhagen, Denmark, on 2 October 2009. The other finalists were Madrid, Spain; Chicago, United States; and Tokyo, Japan. Rio will become the first South American city to host the Summer Olympics, the second city in Latin America to host the event after Mexico City in 1968, and the first since 2000 in the Southern Hemisphere. This will be the third time the Summer Olympics are held in a developing country, after the 1968 Games in Mexico and the 1988 Games in South Korea.

Although it’s just a piece of expensive metal, rings are a lifetime reminder of what a player and his teammates accomplished, and most athletes would never consider parting with their prized piece of jewelry. Other players don’t share in this sentiment. Some chose to sell their rings for charity (like former New England Patriots safety Je’Rod Cherry) or simply because they don’t care for lavish material possessions (like former Edmo...

top 10 famous professional athletes in popular sports who look like bodybuilders Subscribe to TheSportster http://goo.gl/mZKUfd For copyright matters please contact us at: david.f@valnetinc.com There’s an interesting caveat to the competition in this list, as it isn’t just a ranking of the strongest athletes. If it were, we would just include the athletes who can bench or squat with the most weight and be done with it. However, the catch is that they also need to look like bodybuilders. This means their muscles have to be both large and defined. It also means they can’t be carrying any extra pounds around the middle, and should have flat stomachs and abs that pop. Bonus points if they’re all veiny too; bodybuilding judges eat that stuff up. That eliminates a guy like Brock Lesnar, fo...

Well true love is bloomingIn the lot by the bay
So we're here now
We're peering through all the steamed windshields
It always starts the same
Hand up the blouse
She's nervous
The glory
The conquest
If he can convince her
He'll be there
He'll love her
He'll wave when she greets him
Under the clearest moon
She said that he should wait but
She was outvoted two to one
He'll show you heaven soon
What would your mother say
The talk of the town
And the boys' bathroom walls
But he promised
She worries
A nagging sense lingers
The stories spun in the gym
They circulate through the school
And now we're scarred for life
The girls against the boys
The newest contact sport
And the battleground is your school
Some people do it for sport
