'Jakob may refer to:
New Zealand (/njuːˈziːlənd/ new-ZEE-lənd, Māori: Aotearoa [aɔˈtɛaɾɔa]) is an island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The country geographically comprises two main landmasses – that of the North Island, or Te Ika-a-Māui, and the South Island, or Te Waipounamu – and numerous smaller islands. New Zealand is situated some 1,500 kilometres (900 mi) east of Australia across the Tasman Sea and roughly 1,000 kilometres (600 mi) south of the Pacific island areas of New Caledonia, Fiji, and Tonga. Because of its remoteness, it was one of the last lands to be settled by humans. During its long isolation, New Zealand developed a distinctive biodiversity of animal, fungal and plant life. The country's varied topography and its sharp mountain peaks, such as the Southern Alps, owe much to the tectonic uplift of land and volcanic eruptions. New Zealand's capital city is Wellington, while its most populous city is Auckland.
Somewhere between 1250 and 1300 CE, Polynesians settled in the islands that were to become New Zealand, and developed a distinctive Māori culture. In 1642, Abel Tasman, a Dutch explorer, became the first European to sight New Zealand. In 1840, representatives of the British Crown and Māori Chiefs signed the Treaty of Waitangi, making New Zealand a British colony. Today, the majority of New Zealand's population of 4.5 million is of European descent; the indigenous Māori are the largest minority, followed by Asians and Pacific Islanders. Reflecting this, New Zealand's culture is mainly derived from Māori and early British settlers, with recent broadening arising from increased immigration. The official languages are English, Māori and New Zealand Sign Language, with English predominant.
The Croods is a 2013 American 3D computer-animated adventure comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by 20th Century Fox. It stars the voices of Nicolas Cage, Emma Stone, Ryan Reynolds, Catherine Keener, Clark Duke, and Cloris Leachman. The film is set in a fictional prehistoric Pliocene era known as "The Croodaceous" (a prehistoric period which contains fictional prehistoric creatures) when a caveman's position as a "Leader of the Hunt" is threatened by the arrival of a prehistoric genius who comes up with revolutionary new inventions as they trek through a dangerous but exotic land in search of a new home.
The Croods was written and directed by Kirk DeMicco and Chris Sanders, and produced by Kristine Belson and Jane Hartwell. The film premiered at the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival on February 15, 2013, and was released in the United States on March 22, 2013. As part of the distribution deal, this film is the first from DreamWorks Animation to be distributed by 20th Century Fox, since the end of their distribution deal with Paramount Pictures.

The Bahamas i/bəˈhɑːməz/, officially the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, is an island country of the Lucayan Archipelago consisting of more than 700 islands, cays, and islets in the Atlantic Ocean; north of Cuba and Hispaniola (Haiti and the Dominican Republic); northwest of the Turks and Caicos Islands; southeast of the US state of Florida and east of the Florida Keys. Its capital is Nassau on the island of New Providence. The designation of "Bahamas" can refer to either the country or the larger island chain that it shares with the Turks and Caicos Islands. As stated in the mandate/manifesto of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, the Bahamas territory encompasses 470,000 km2 (180,000 sq mi) of ocean space.
Originally inhabited by the Lucayan, a branch of the Arawakan-speaking Taino people, the Bahamas were the site of Columbus' first landfall in the New World in 1492. Although the Spanish never colonised the Bahamas, they shipped the native Lucayans to slavery in Hispaniola. The islands were mostly deserted from 1513 until 1648, when English colonists from Bermuda settled on the island of Eleuthera.

Plot: Topper finds the summer holidays a bit boring and feels a bit daft being crazy about a girl he can't make head or tail of. To add to his problems, Topper misses his dad, who is off sailing the seven seas or who knows - perhaps even further away than that. But one day, Topper finds something amazing, and suddenly life isn't quite so boring after all. He finds a pencil - not an ordinary pencil, mind - that wouldn't be special at all. No, this one can do magic! Together with his best friend, Viggo, Topper is about to discover all the incredible things this kind of pencil can be used for. Topper and Viggo live in the same old, red brick building. The ground floor is occupied by the Red Catfish Café owned by Viggo's dad, Mr Lion. Topper lives on the second floor - and it is here that he and Viggo draw a rhino on the wall - a yellow rhino with three horns. They don't have to wait long for something magical to happen. Moments later the rhino comes alive!

Title: Malachite Artist: Jakob Album: Solace Solace is the third album by the New Zealand post-rock band Jakob. It was released in New Zealand on September 11, 2006. In comparison to the band's earlier albums, which focused more on melody and eeriness, Solace showcases a significant evolution towards a darker, heavier, moodier post-metal sound that is reminiscent of the work of such band as ISIS, Pelican and Cult of Luna. Sines (2014) http://flyingout.co.nz/products/jakob-sines-lp-cd-pre-order Eight years after an explorative post-rock storm that saw them tour the world, JAKOB has broken the silence. In an emerging swell, their forthcoming album Sines is a bold and splendorous return to the world stage after an extended pause. The album’s opening track Blind Them With Science erupts in into a cacophonous roar that, dare we say it, is worth the wait. Fans have waited for eight years for this record -- with patience and passion, some believing that it might not ever arrive at all. The long-awaited follow-up to 2006’s Solace, shows New Zealand’s most formidable post-rock three- piece is now back in full swing and ready to bring their unmistakeable sonic texturing to their fans once more. As on their prev...

A little taste of my workflow on DreamWorks Animation's "The Croods".
10 years deep- the biggest, best, and most long-standing video talent search in skiing is back and better than ever! Superunknown X brought in over 100 entries from around the world, as the hungriest and most talented up-and-comers in the game try to follow in the footsteps of previous winners and make a name for themselves in the ski video scene. Every year since the inception of the Superunknown contest the talent pool has gotten deeper and the skills, style, and creativity of the entrants has increased exponentially. We claim it every year, but to say that this year's judging process was the most difficult yet would be an understatement. We polled the entire Level 1 staff and our athletes. We watched, re-watched, and watched submissions again and again. We scored entries, re-scored 'em...

Here's my animation of Guy from DreamWorks Animation's "The Croods" (2013) which earned me an Annie Award. I added a few acting tests and an expression development test up front. These were done early in production to help explore both the character as well as the rig requirements. In the Fire Sequence, Eep was animated by Line Andersen and in the Tar Pit Sequence, Grug was animated by Gabriele Pennacchioli. Lyrics:
Jakob's got a ladder
Climbs up to the sun
Once you get to the top of it
You're going to be someone
Now I've got a ladder
And it climbs up to the sky
Once I get to the top of it
I'm gonna be good and high
Don't believe in ladders
Heaven ain't in the sky
But once you get to the top
Look out kid
(chorus):
Jakob keep climbing someday
You're gonna get to the top you see
You're living your life on Earth
In a state of rebirth
The work is done and time will tell
If you're living in Hell
This world is a heaven to me
Sharon's got a rose
Redder than her lipstick
Says, "Brother can you spare a dime?"
And then I give it to her quick
Now I've got a rose
But the wine is dirty red
Drink enough for the both of us
In the morning I might be dead
Don't believe in roses
Heaven ain't in the sky
But once you get to the top
Look out kid
(chorus)
Joseph's got a coat
Covers up the back seat
Takes a hit of his smoke
Then he says he can't see straight
No, No
I've got a vision
Colors too bold to call
Big enough for the both of us
Big enough for us all
Don't believe in visions
Zion ain't in the sky
But once you get to the top
Look out kid
