Tool is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 1990, the group's line-up includes drummer Danny Carey, guitarist Adam Jones, and vocalist Maynard James Keenan. Since 1995, Justin Chancellor has been the band's bassist, replacing their original bassist Paul D'Amour. Tool has won three Grammy Awards, performed worldwide tours, and produced albums topping the charts in several countries.
The band emerged with a heavy metal sound on their first studio album, Undertow (1993), and later became a dominant act in the alternative metal movement, with the release of their second album, Ænima in 1996. Their efforts to unify musical experimentation, visual arts, and a message of personal evolution continued, with Lateralus (2001) and the most recent album, 10,000 Days (2006), gaining the band critical acclaim, and commercial success around the world.
Due to Tool's incorporation of visual arts and very long and complex releases, the band is generally described as a style-transcending act and part of progressive rock, psychedelic rock, and art rock. The relationship between the band and today's music industry is ambivalent, at times marked by censorship, and the band's insistence on privacy.

Tool Live. 2002. Denver, CO. Full Concert. This is one of my favorite recordings and probably one of the few I've listened to constantly for years. It might not be the cleanest of them all, but it's an extremely well done capture. Once again, as with all my attempts, "remastered" here means my amateur attempt to make the stuff just sound a little better. It's definitely one of the best 2002 shows and I've listened to it a trillion times, so I thought I'd give it a go. 00:00 - 02:14 Intro 02:14 - 07:06 Sober 07:35 - 07:44 Maynard's Important Message 07:44 - 13:46 4° 14:27 - 22:48 The Grudge 23:09 - 23:53 Maynard Talks 23:53 - 30:10 Stinkfist 30:10 - 36:07 Forty Six & 2 36:44 - 37:45 Schism Intro 37:45 - 45:25 Schism 45:52 - 47:19 Parabola Intro 47:19 - 56:13 Parabola 57:03 - 58:16 Eon Blu...

Here is a sneak peek of the promo series for one of the biggest electronic dance music events in Asia, now featured on the Technicolor Cinestyle website. Onyx Cinema team members, Michael and Georgia were flown over to Taiwan to cover on of its largest EDM events of the summer. The company that hired them wanted to give a different style from local videography companies, and that's where we give our cinematic Onyx treatment. For two cameramen to cover such a fast paced event, it was imperative that we use lightweight cameras that were good in low light. That's where the Canon 5D Mark III and the Canon 60D come in. But in such events where there's a need for both low light performance butto also retain detail with extreme highlights, the DSLRs needed a little bit of extra help. That hel...

In episode 2 of Backseat Beat, we get up close and personal with Camp Out. Eschewing extra band members to keep things simple, Maddy Hanks and Jackie Law take multitasking to another level, and watching them play is just as much fun as listening to their music. Hanks takes care of vocals, guitar and a loop station, while Law holds it down on drums (she had a drum machine for today’s shoot), keys, and backing vocals. Notice that Law’s keyboard stand is actually a snowboard, a tool she uses for all of their gigs. During our shoot on a somewhat busy stretch lined with old warehouses in the Dogpatch neighborhood, Camp Out had an audience of nosy onlookers passing by in cars, not to mention a mini-audience of skateboarders. Their infectious, 80's inflected electro-pop perfectly matched the...

May-June, 1985. While Peterborough's Harry Oakman was an aerial photographer with an international reputation, across Ontario generations of beer drinkers knew him for one thing. As his brief biography (below) indicates, in the late 1950s he was hired to photograph, from the air, every beer store in the province. Eventually you could not walk into a beer store anywhere in Ontario without seeing a huge photo of that store and the credit ‘H. OAKMAN PETERBORO, ONT’. That’s probably what inspired Hank Fisher (aka musician Washboard Hank) to organize an exhibition of Oakman’s life work for Peterborough's artist-run centre, Artspace. Fisher is a Peterborough native who, in his songwriting, celebrates the foibles and virtues of common folk while doing his best to take the piss out of the establis...

Here is something that I discovered some days ago. It is something people always thought It wouldn't exist but it does: A TV proshot of a Tool Live performance, recorded during the Undertow-Days with multi-cam-mix from above the crowd, behind the drumkit, in front of the mic and all this stuff. It's only this one song but it's worth it. Enjoy Visit my site: http://www.konzertticket.org/
Tool Live. JC Dobbs. Philadelphia, PA. 1992. Remastered. Full Concert. Every Tool fan should see this show at least once, consider it mandatory in Tool's live curriculum. Apart from the great camera work, great audio and insane closeups, it's a testament to the unique energy the band had right from the beginning. Should sound a little more punchy now. Video has been slightly denoised. 00:15 Part Of Me 04:20 Hush 07:47 Cold & Ugly 12:05 Sober 17:53 Sweat 22:11 Crawl Away 28:40 Swamp Song 34:23 Bottom 41:00 Jerk-Off Get Maynard James Keenan's wine: https://caduceus.org/ http://www.puscifer.com http://www.toolband.com

Tool Live DVD 2006. NOTE: This was not made by me, but by 'Josh' who put it out on DVD back in 2007. It's still surprisingly good after 10 years, and all I did was remove some of the distortion and slightly improve picture quality. This is actually a really good performance, Maynard sounds great! And because I'm too lazy to do my own 2006 Live DVD (since I'm working on another year), I thought this one would be good enough. 00:00 Rosetta Stoned 12:21 Stinkfist 18:38 The Pot 25:43 Forty Six & 2 32:16 Jambi 40:07 Schism 48:07 Sober 54:02 Lateralus 1:04:44 Vicarious 1:12:19 Ænema Get Maynard James Keenan's wine: https://caduceus.org/ http://www.puscifer.com http://www.toolband.com

Tool Live Aftershock Festival 2016. Full Concert. Multi Cam. I tried putting this together with the best available video footage, plus 1 great audio source. I decided to upload an album I made of Tool's Greatest Songs (according to me). There's 11 songs because that's the maximum amount of space that a regular CD can hold. Also, it was extremely difficult choosing some of the songs. If there was enough room on the CD I would have added Push It, Rosetta Stoned, Jambi, The Grudge, Eulogy, Right in Two, Reflection or possibly Bottom. (Not to mention a great many others...it was so hard to chose). I know some of you don't like how I put 4 Degrees on here, but I tried to balance the album out and I couldn't live with the fact that I only had one song (Sober) from Undertow. So one of the songs I previously mentioned could have been in this album instead, however, if I chose for example Rosetta Stoned, there would have not been enough room for 11 ...

Undertow is the debut full-length album by American rock band Tool, released in 1993. According to Allmusic, Undertow helped heavy metal music remain prominent as a mainstream musical style, and allowed several later bands to break through to the mainstream. It was released at a time when grunge was at the height of its popularity, and pop punk was slowly beginning to gather mainstream attention. Allmusic saw the album's success in the "striking, haunting visuals that complemented the album's nihilistic yet wistful mood. It was eventually certified double platinum by the RIAA on May 14, 2001.As of July 7, 2010, Undertow has sold 2,910,000 copies in the US. The album was recorded between October and December 1992 at Grand Master Studios, Hollywood, California, by Sylvia Massy. Some of the s...

Fisher is a Peterborough native who, in his songwriting, celebrates the foibles and virtues of common folk while doing his best to take the piss out of the establis...

http://www.barco.com - Barco has delivered the worlds first transformable 360° LED screen for U2. With its 360° shape, the LED screen surrounds the band while performing and can change shape in all directions during the concert. Interview with Willie Williams, Mark Fisher, Chuck Hoberman, Carl Rijsbrack Willie Williams, U2 show designer, says Video is the most powerful tool you can have on stage. But now that video is so ubiquitous in rock stage setting, we needed a very extreme change of canvas to be heard. The transformable LED gave us the chance to create a transparent 360° moving video element, unprecedented in this industry. It is the icing on the cake on this design. I filmed a very talented Ryan Hall with his unique band entitled Woody's Rampage at a local venue in Denton, Texas (Hickory Street Lounge). He needed a promotional video to be able to show to potential private clients and venues. This was a last minute shoot with my Sony HXR-MC50u and their are several things I would have changed but overall I was happy how this turned out and it has been a great marketing tool for the band. They have since been seen on the Travel Channel, a couple of online interview shows, and several private parties and new venues. And the angel of the lord came unto me, snatching me up from my place of slumber.
And took me on high, and higher still until we moved to the spaces betwixt the air itself.
And he brought me into a vast farmlands of our own midwest.
And as we descended, cries of impending doom rose from the soil.
One thousand, nay a million voices full of fear.
And terror possesed me then.
And I begged,
"Angel of the Lord, what are these tortured screams?"
And the angel said unto me,
"These are the cries of the carrots, the cries of the carrots!
You see, Reverend Maynard, tomorrow is harvest day and to them it is the holocaust."
And I sprang from my slumber drenched in sweat like the tears of one million terrified brothers and roared,
"Hear me now, I have seen the light!
They have a consciousness, they have a life, they have a soul!
Damn you!
Let the rabbits wear glasses!
Save our brothers!"
Can I get an amen?
Can I get a hallelujah?
Thank you Jesus.
Life feeds on life feeds on life feeds on life feeds on........
This is necessary.
It was daylight when you woke up in your ditch.
You looked up at your sky then.
That made blue be your color.
You had your knife there with you too.
When you stood up there was goo all over your clothes.
Your hands were sticky.
You wiped them on your grass, so now your color was green.
Oh Lord, why did everything always have to keep changing like this.
You were already getting nervous again.
Your head hurt and it rang when you stood up.
Your head was almost empty.
It always hurt you when you woke up like this.
You crawled up out of your ditch onto your gravel road and began to walk,
waiting for the rest of your mind to come back to you.
You can see the car parked far down the road and you walked toward it.
"If God is our Father," you thought, "then Satan must be our cousin.
" Why didn't anyone else understand these important things?
You got to your car and tried all the doors.
They were locked.
It was a red car and it was new.
There was an expensive leather camera case laying on the seat.
Out across your field, you could see two tiny people walking by your woods.
You began to walk towards them.
