Bollywood has a new fad—transforming bodies and investing a lot of time and effort to ensure to look every bit in character.

From Randeep Hooda’s Sarbjit to Ranbir Kapoor in Sanjay Dutt biopic, we have seen the results of tremendous efforts put in by actors for transformation. However, there are times when prosthetics and make up drastically change the looks of actors.

Here’s a look at some of the most unrecognisable transformations that actors have gone through for their movies:

Rajkummar Rao

Rajkummar Rao in Raabta (Left) and Ami Sairabanu.

This actor has been picking a wide variety of roles, and proving just how he can do justice to any script or character that’s given to him. In Ami Sairabanu, which was supposed to mark Rajkummar’s debut in Bengali cinema, he plays a transgender. He also plays a 324-year-old man in Kriti Sanon-Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer Raabta.

Sayani Gupta

Sayani Gupta plays a 14-year-old in Jagga Jasoos.

Sayani, who started her film career with Margarita With A Straw playing a blind girl, later essayed the role of a pregnant lady in Jolly LLB. She will soon be seen as a 14-year-old kid in Jagga Jasoos.

Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor has worked on his body to ensure a surprising similarity to the young Sanjay Dutt.

Coming from a distinguished background, this actor has proved himself with every film he has given to his audience. In a recent picture that was leaked, Ranbir Kapoor looks exactly like Sanjay Dutt.

Hrithik Roshan

Hrithik Roshan in Dhoom 2.

The suave Hrithik was seen experimenting with various looks in Dhoom:2—as the chharming thief.

Kamal Hassan

Top two: Kamal Haasan in Dashavatar; bottom left: Kamal in Chachi 420 and Kamal in Hindustani.

No one can match Kamal Hassan in acting prowess and make up. In one of the most bold experiments, the actor played not double or triple, but 10 roles in Dasavathaaram, surprising fans and critics alike.

Kamal Hassan is not new to playing unrecognisable acts. In Chachi 420, the versatile actor had donned the get-up of a older woman running around in sari, besides playing a host of different characters in films like Appu Raja, Mayor Sahab, Hindustani, Vishwaroopam, Hey Ram, Abhay.
