For Lovers

"For Lovers" is the debut single by Wolfman featuring Pete Doherty. The single reached No. 7 in the UK singles chart. Rumours that the pair received relatively little money, having already sold the publishing rights for a small amount in a pub are unfounded as in reality the rights were shared amongst the musicians who worked mostly without pay on the recording.

In 2005 the song was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award for songwriting.

Running Away

"Running Away" is a single recorded by Hoobastank. It was the third single released from the 2001 self-titled debut album Hoobastank. The song peaked at #2 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart and became the highest charting single from the album and one of Hoobastank's biggest hits. It is also featured on Now That's What I Call Music! 11.

Music video

In the music video for "Running Away" appears Hoobastank playing on a background depicting a woman who tries to run away from their problems.

The music video was directed by Paul Fedor.

The Joker Is Wild (album)

The Joker is Wild was the second album released by Alex Harvey after the demise of The Soul Band. The album was released in 1972. Some time after 1972 the album The Joker Is Wild was reissued and repackaged, the album song listings stayed the same, but the album was credited as being made by "The Sensational Alex Harvey Band" even though this band did not exist at the time, and the title was changed to This Is.

Background

The album was recorded at Regent Sound Studio, London in early 1972. These songs are unfinished demos only, recorded for a Spanish singer named Tony Caldeira (who wrote "The Joker Is Wild" and "Silhouette and Shadow"). Alex was teaching Tony vocal delivery and phrasing. Alex received a cheque for the session which subsequently bounced. The producer, Paul Murphy, sold the tapes to Metronome Records in Germany and they issued the LP as The Joker Is Wild in 1972. This Is SAHB is a low budget reissue of "Joker" intended to cash in on SAHB's success (even though Zal, Chris, Ted and Hugh weren't involved with the recordings). The photo of SAHB on the sleeve features keyboard player John Martin on the far left.

The Lovers

The Lovers (VI) is the sixth trump or Major Arcana card in most traditional Tarot decks. It is used in game playing as well as in divination.

Interpretation

In some traditions, the Lovers represent relationships and choices. Its appearance in a spread indicates some decision about an existing relationship, a temptation of the heart, or a choice of potential partners. Often an aspect of the Querent's life will have to be sacrificed; a bachelor(ette)'s lifestyle may be sacrificed and a relationship gained (or vice versa), or one potential partner may be chosen while another is turned down. Whatever the choice, it should not be made lightly, as the ramifications will be lasting.

The Lovers is associated with the star sign Gemini, and indeed is also known as The Twins in some decks. Other associations are with Air, Mercury, and the Hebrew letter ז (Zayin).

A Song for the Lovers

"A Song for the Lovers" is a song by English singer-songwriter Richard Ashcroft and is the opening track on his 2000 album, Alone with Everybody. The song was also released on April 3, 2000 as the first single from that album in the United Kingdom (see 2000 in British music). The single peaked at #3 in the UK Singles Chart, a position that would be matched by Ashcroft's 2006 single "Break the Night with Colour".

A Song for the Lovers was originally written by Richard Ashcroft as a demo track for The Verve's studio album Urban Hymns. 3 different versions were recorded but the song did not make the final album.

The music video for "A Song for the Lovers" premiered in May 2000 and was directed by Jonathan Glazer.

The video is of narrative style. It is shot in real-time with an element of diegetic sound unusual in most music videos. Diegetic sound was used previously by Glazer for "Rabbit in Your Headlights".
