Animals: your brief and video tutorial for the May Clique Challenge

Theme: Animals
​Deadline: Monday, May 22 at 12 noon AEST

Your May Challenge theme is “Animals”.

Entries must have a strong animal element and can range from the family dog, or a giraffe at the zoo.

From rescued joey, to the winner at a poultry show.

Submissions with or without a human element are eligible and entries can fall into several categories of photography, including portraiture, daily life/photojournalism, and macro.

Clique is hosting workshops in Sydney and Melbourne to help members create an entry for this Challenge. To see what’s on, visit our events page.

Fairfax photographer Peter Rae joined us for the May video tutorial at Symbio Wildlife Park, sharing his advice for photographing animals.

The winner of the May Challenge wins a Clique prize pack valued at more than $1500, including:

The winner of the Clique People’s Choice Award for May wins a $150 voucher from The Store by Fairfax and a $50 bottle of wine from Tulloch Wines.

How to enter

Firstly, make sure you're logged into your Clique account.

  • Make sure you’re logged into your correct Clique account before uploading below.
  • You can enter a maximum of one entry per Challenge.
  • Your image must be under 100MB, 300 dpi and in JPEG form to upload successfully.
  • Entries for the Clique monthly Challenges in 2017 must have been made in 2017 (on or after January 1, 2017).
  • Late entries will not be accepted.
  • A limited amount of image post-processing is allowed, but images having excessive “manipulation” (in the opinion of the judge/s) may be scored down.​
