The vast array of shoulder-grazing lobs popping up on red carpets everywhere is driving even long-time long-haired addicts to contemplate taking the chop. Here we round up the hottest celebrity cuts we've seen so far this year, from the reworked lob to the undercut and of course, the pixie.
Remember, a picture tells a thousand words, so take a shot of your favourite celebrity-inspired cut with you on your next visit to the hairdresser.
Chrissy Teigen currently rocks a textured lob with a flattering length that just grazes the shoulders. To keep this style looking sexed-up, it requires a bit of styling. Start by blow-drying hair straight with a large round brush and then apply a sea salt spray and scrunch with hands to create volume and a tousled feel. If you want to ramp it up a notch try the GHD Soft Curl Tong to add a few curls.
Until just this week when she opted for an edgy pixie cut (more on those later) Cara Delevingne had a long lob with fined-out ends and a strong centre part. The clever razoring of Cara's hair creates lots of movement and texture. Love this look.

Kerry Washington's shorter, blunter, straight bob is right on trend. The polished straight blow-dry is definitely having a resurgence and Kerry's is pitch perfect. So blow-dry hair straight, and for a glassy smooth finish, grab a set of large panelled hair straighteners.

Miranda Kerr always looks so pretty and pulled together, and her chin-length bob is a look she has been wearing for some time with effortless ease. The softly kicked-out curls soften the bob while still keeping it polished.

Katy Perry's undercut works perfectly with this pixie cut. To keep this short cut in place use a pomade and a texture spray. With the pomade, rub a small amount between your palms, run it through your hair and then meld your hair into your favourite shape. To finish use a texturising spray all-over to help keep hair in place.

Ruby Rose's short and sharp signature cut can also be softened up with a loose wave. Short hair has many attributes: it's low maintenance (once you have mastered it), fresh and can be grown out in a number of interesting ways. See above.

Yara Shahidi's luxurious curly bob comes in at chin-level and is the perfect face framer. To create picture-perfect curls like Shadidi, try a curl-defining product. After shampooing and conditioning, work it through from roots to ends and let hair air-dry.

Margot Robbie's long, beachy hair also works worn poker-straight. Here, this lived-in, mussed-up style, worn with a middle part, is the epitome of cool. Remember to always apply a leave-in heat protectant before rough blow-drying and creating a relaxed wave with a curling iron, followed by dry shampoo to rough it up.

Michelle Williams' ice blonde pixie cut will never go out of style. It emphasises her amazing eyes and brows. This style is quite high on the maintenance metre to keep it looking pert and pixie, so invest in a good stylist and colourist.

Emma Watson's side-swept fringe gives this classic cut a modern twist. Never underestimate the power of a fringe to update your look. This cut would work equally well with a full fringe teamed with gentle curls at the ends of the hair.
