BORTIER OKOE AT THE DJANGO BAR, Saturday 22 April (Sydenham)

Get a taste of Australia's diverse music scene by attending Bortier Okoe's show at the Camelot Lounge. The Afrosoul artist will be performing a selection of songs in English and three other Ghanian languages. Okoe is a master drummer and multi-instrumentalist so there's no doubt that this will be an invigorating show you will not want to miss!

BUSHCARE WORKING BEE AT SUMMER HILL, Sunday 23 April (Summer Hill)

If you love plants and getting your hands dirty, then head to Cadigal Reserve this Sunday for a day of getting in touch with your roots - literally! Even if you're not a budding gardener, the work you do at the Reserve will leave you with a new sense of appreciation for greenways. Not to mention, this initiative will educate you on your local plants and surrounding environment.

SIZZLE 2017 - ENSEMBLE OFFSPRING, Sunday 23 April (Petersham) 

Love bowling and music? Then you'll love this innovative mix of contemporary Aussie classical music and bowling. Ensemble Offspring, a classical collective, will be playing the Petersham Bowling Club with interactive music installations and ping pong balls.  There will aslso be instrument building workshops that are sure to spark creativity in children and adults alike. Head down to the bowlo' for a wacky afternoon full of classical and jazz music.

AUTHOR TALK WITH NOULA DIAMANTOPOULOS, Wednesday 26 April (Concord) 

Come along to Concord Library for a rejuvenating experience with Noula Diamantopoulos. The author and holistic psychologist will be holding a talk about her book 'You Are. That Is. Creative.' as well as running an interactive workshop that draws out your creativity and expands your mind. You'll be leaving the workshop a more whole and fleshed-out person.

LAUGHTER AND LOGIC: ANCIENT GREEK COMEDY AND THE WORLD OF TODAY, Wednesday 26 April (Marrickville)

Dr Alfred Vincent will be holding a conversation about Ancient Greek comedy and how playwrights addressed contemporary issues affecting society into their stories, using comedy to do so. Through a discussion of Aristophanes' works, Dr Vincent will discuss the role that Greek comedies played in deciphering political and cultural meaning, as well as Aristopahnes' influence on European theatre.
