Found may refer to:
A lost and found (American English and Canadian English), lost property (British English), or lost articles (also Canadian English) is an office in a public building or area where people can go to retrieve lost articles that may have been found by others. Frequently found at museums, amusement parks and schools, a lost and found will typically be a clearly marked box or room in a location near the main entrance. This is in contrast to Old Dominion University's centralization of lost and found management through the use of technology to better manage the return-to-owner process.
Some lost and found offices will try to contact the owners of any lost items if there are any personal identifiers available. Practically all will either sell, give or throw away items after a certain period has passed to clear their storage.
First advertising of this kind appears on papyruses in Ancient Greece and Rome. In Japan, the lost-and-found property system dates to a code written in the year 718. The first modern lost and found office was organized in Paris in 1805. Napoleon ordered his prefect of police to establish it as a central place "to collect all objects found in the streets of Paris", according to Jean-Michel Ingrandt, who was appointed the office's director in 2001. However, it was not until 1893 that Louis Lépine, then prefect of police, organized efforts to actively track down the owners of lost items.

A short film that we created as a book trailer for Stephanie Henry's recently released If Only I Could Sleep. In looking at how to make a trailer that was based on Steph's life, it felt way too simple and safe to interview those involved in the book and then add some broll to it. In reading the book ourselves we found this essay, My Utopia, which she presented in English class, late in 1981. It was a haunting portrait of what her life and mind were like at that time. And it offered an amazing opportunity to connect you to Stephanie's story while doing what any strong book trailer should - make you want to know more. This short film is the true story of that day in Steph's English class. Shot on the Red Epic along side some Red Scarlet. The opening shot, a 17 second continuous take tha...

Circle of Abstract Ritual began as an exploration of the idea that creation and destruction might be the same thing. The destruction end of that thought began in earnest when riots broke out in my neighborhood in Anaheim, California, 2012. I immediately climbed onto my landlord's roof without asking and began recording the unfolding events. The news agencies I contacted had no idea what to do with time lapse footage of riots, which was okay with me because I had been thinking about recontextualizing news as art for some time. After that I got the bug. I chased down wildfires, walked down storm drains on the L....

FREDERICK DOUGLASS - FULL AudioBook | Greatest Audio Books - (A Narrative of the Life of) - Autobiography - Frederick Douglass (born Frederick Augustus Washington Bailey, c. February 1818 -- February 20, 1895) was an American social reformer, orator, writer and statesman. After escaping from slavery, he became a leader of the abolitionist movement, gaining note for his dazzling oratory and incisive antislavery writing. He stood as a living counter-example to slaveholders' arguments that slaves did not have the intellectual capacity to function as independent American citizens. Many Northerners also found it hard to believe that such a great orator had been a slave. Douglass wrote several autobiographies, eloquently describing his experiences in slavery in his 1845 autobiography, Narrativ...

Or how about huge UNDERWATER structure off coast of Japan!? You also will get some clue of who may have build Pyramids in Egypt and beyond. Tip: The builders were not exactly in our size: - Genesis 6:4 - The Nephilim / Giants were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men o...

Donate to me at https://paypal.me/britishmoralhq * chapter guide at the bottom First published in 1845, the Narrative of the life of Frederick Douglass became Frederick Douglass's most well known work. It is as the name implies his autobiography. Frederick Douglass was born a slave and underwent horrendous treatment at the hands of his owners. He later escaped to the north and became an outspoken abolitionist. Not only did he have a great life story to tell, his skill in telling it has long been admired. Douglass traveled throughout Europe lecturing about slavery. After publication, the Narrative of the life of Frederick Douglass quickly became a best seller and within three years there were over 11,000 copies published in the United States, had been reprinted nine times and had been t...

Transaction of Hollows is a long durational performance that investigates the mankind’s desire on love and war. Suryodarmo is referring to her political senses to the lost society by shooting hundreds of arrows during several hours without a specific target, confined inside a closed room with the audience. Captured by repetitive poetic conquests, Melati Suryodarmo (b.1969, lives and works in Surakarta, Indonesia) creates powerful images, w...
This project exists as a series of photographic C-prints and a meditative audio/video gallery installation in which I visualize planes of pure sound that correspond to field recordings of various spans of high tension wire. Because there are few roads in the rural interior of Rio Grande do Sul, and the shortest distance between any two points is a straight line, the high tension wires that supply remote farms with electricity follow a pragmatic logic, often departing from established routes like dirt roads and rail road beds to cut across the region's otherwise natural and agrarian landscape. One can trace these power lines from one farm to the next, through picturesque fields of rice, soybeans, and grazing animals towards the urban centers where the supply of electricity originates. I t...
"Words?! Yes, I will leave some behind only if they take as little space as the ashes of that half of my body that will be burnt, and as little time to read as the duration needed to bury the other half." Distracted, Jalal Toufic. One hardly thinks about the paper, the documents, that follow us in our lives: our birth certificate, Social Security card, report cards. Documents that are like breathing, like an involuntary action, essential identifiers to confirm our existence. Then there's the material that shapes us, fills out our smiles, shapes the timber in our laughter: love letters that we store in shoeboxes, the old planners with dates circled, scribbled out, the phone number you eventually remember…forget…remember. It was only in today's shoot (08/04/2012) with Eddy that I began ...
Based on Concret PH by Iannis Xenakis, performed for Bang the Bore X: Zone of Alienation at the Hansard Gallery in Southampton, 06.08.11. From the programme: Based on composer and architect Iannis Xenakis' classic piece Concret PH which was composed for Xenakis and Le Corbusier's Phillips Pavilion at the 1958 World Fair in Brussels - occasion for the construction of the iconic Atomium building. Concret PH can seem on first hearing to be a modest, even minor piece. It is less than three minutes long and deals for the entirety of that duration with a wavering field of microscopic sound events. Beyond these appearances, however, the work is a highly ambitious and groundbreaking work of post-war modernism. Constructed by filtering and painstakingly collaging fragments of a recording of burn...
