Brisbane just want it more, both in attack and defense. Five men are in the face of the kick-returner as he gathers within his own 10m region.

Bennett has to happy with what's been on offer this evening.

They're on fire! Penrith aren't quite on the money and are off guard when Milford offloads in the tackle, deep in his own half.

It's hard to put into words what happens next, but it's quality, running football.  The boys found the right gaps, there was support from teammates when needed, and finally Tautau Moga found a way through.

Too good. I suggest you watch the below video!

The right foot step...

Moylan is all over it at fullback as a chip kick is somewhat overcooked.

Brisbane aren't letting them do much with it, as Cleary is forced to put it straight up the middle after a gain of less than 30m.

The home side complete despite a questionable pass from dummy-half, and do so in style!

Milford puts it up high and wide, almost blindly. Jordan Kahu chases as the only man who wants the ball. He gets up high and takes the football cleanly, before stepping hard inside off his right foot for points.

He converts from straight in front. Beautiful.

Better defence that time from the Panthers, Nikorima, despite his fancy footwork, is unable to escape on the last and it Penrith ball. A kick from inside the 30m line on the third tackle means a Brisbane feed from the other 30m line.

It's been a while since Penrith have seen this end of the pitch - let's see if they can spend any meaningful amount of time there.

Penrith take a welcome penalty as Josh McGuire fails to play the ball correctly, just losing his grip before reaching the turf. That's some much needed respite from multiple sets at their line.

The Panthers look to take it up with strength, but that pressure results in a lost ball and a turnover. That is not what the visitors needed.

No Try!

All sorts on there, and it's a drop out. Brisbane could have very easily put some more on the board there. Milford throws it on the boot and it clips a defender before the mess is cleaned up by Moylan. Just.

Brisbane are coming again though, hard. Tackles are looking all the more difficult for Penrith as the game goes on. The Broncos want it more right now, the legs just keep pumping in contact.

We're going upstairs to check for grounding but neither the referee or Herman Ese'ese, the potential try-scorer, look confident.

That decision is confirmed by the bunker.

Kahu misses this conversion by not very much at all, and it's 10 to nothing. Brisbane do not look done, either.

Peter Wallace appears to have hurt himself after a shot on Brisbane's Milford. He looks to be okay but got a bit of attention from his side's trainer.

Meantime Penrith are on the move after a couple of penalties and were looking hot before giving the ball away. A short ball turns into a quick mistake, off the chest of the runner and into the hands of Brisbane's Kodi Nikorima.

It's quickly put on to James Roberts, who is absolutely rapid. No one is getting near him!

For all you couch referees at home, here's the vision from the earlier no-try decision.

See what you think.

Try time!

And sometimes that's all it takes..

Give a side like Brisbane a chance and they'll punish you. A brilliant set-piece move from the scrum results in four points. The third ball out comes only after the relevant defender was drawn inside, leaving a big gap.

That was enough for the move to come off, and after the ball was whipped back inside, Kodi Nikorima gets through and it's advantage Brisbane.

Penrith have been really hustling in defence so far. They are keen to shut down Brisbane's attack, and so far it's working.

The pressure is on, despite efforts from the home side to spread the football, and in turn spread the defensive efforts.

Corey Harawira-Naera looked to be capitalising on the territory Penrith are enjoying as a result, but a loose carry stifles any excitement.

Brisbane are looking slow in the middle but as I type they spread it wide and inject a bit of pace into proceedings.

After five tackles it looked like they were going to run it from a long way out, but in the end Corey Oates put the football into touch with a pretty handy grubber kick.

Penrith ball.

No Try!

Confusion there as Penrith looked to have scored. Peter Wallace dummied and ran it in from the play-the-ball, but just before he was able to ground the ball, it was knocked clear by the tackler.

It appeared to go backwards, and was gathered and grounded by supporting players - the decision being sent upstairs, but ruled a try on-field.

It was turned down by the bunker, presumably ruled a loose carry. More on that as it comes.

After five tackles of little consequence in reply it's knocked deep to Penrith captain Matt Moylan, who takes it under minimal pressure. Most of the action has been up the middle from both sides, early on.

Penrith have looked strong in defence. They are making up much more ground than their opposition as a result, and after being gifted a penalty have another set from 30m out.

Kick Off!

Brisbane kick deep and left. Penrith take it up to the opposition 40 after five tackles thanks to multiple strong runs. Cleary kicks high - very high - and it's defused on the run by Corey Oates.

Back to the form - it's hard to read too much into it. Brisbane are certainly doing the business at home of late, winning seven of their last eight outings at Suncorp Stadium.

Meantime, Penrith earned bragging rights in five of the past seven match-ups between the two sides.

What matters most, though, is what happens over the next 80 minutes.

See you on the other side!

Brisbane coach Wayne Bennett not counting his chickens this evening, he's tipping the Panthers to show up tonight. We'll know shortly, no doubt.

Hello and welcome!

We should be in for a good night's football this evening, as one-time premiership favourites Penrith attempt to inject some hope into their season after a dreadful start.

That will be no mean feat against a Brisbane side sitting at the pointy end of the ladder and looking to jump up into a top-four spot.

While the Broncos will take the field as favourites, it would be improper to ignore the good record the Panthers boast against the Queensland outfit. A return to those good fortunes would require a significant shift in on-field performance, however.

Time will tell.
