What it is like to be a Roma woman in Serbia, what have Roma women achieved in various fields, what challenges do they face and what are their perspectives for the future? These questions gathered representatives from relevant national and international stakeholders and civil society organizations at a conference held on the occasion of the International Roma Day held on April 8 and the recently marked International Women’s Day.

Serbia’s Human Development Index value for 2015 is 0.776 — which puts the country in the high human development category —positioning it at the 66th place out of 188 countries and territories. The rank is shared with Costa Rica.
