DPS at work
The Parliament House complex occupies a 35-hectare site, comprises of approximately 4,700 rooms and contains more than 100,000 maintainable assets.
The Department of Parliamentary Services has a workforce of approximately 700 staff members whose role is to support the functioning of Parliament and parliamentarians through the provision of professional services, advice and facilities.
DPS staff are dedicated to the task of providing first-class support services to the Australian Parliament and the wider community.
An example of the diversity of DPS is the work of the Parliament Maintenance Officers who look after the Parliament House flag.
