Doggy style
Doggy style, also spelled doggie style, is any sex position in which a person bends over, crouches on all fours (usually on hands and knees), or lies on their abdomen, for sexual intercourse, other forms of sexual penetration or other sexual activity. Doggy style sex is a form of a rear-entry position, the other being with the receiving partner lying on the side in the spoons sex position.Non-penetrative sex in this position may also be regarded as doggy style sex. Between sex partners, the person in the doggy style position is passive or submissive, while the other partner is active or dominant. The passive partner is open to a variety of sexual activities, with the active partner being able to penetrate the vagina, the anus during anal sex, or being in a position to perform oral sex (cunnilingus, fellatio or anilingus).
History and etymology
In ancient Rome, this practice was known as coitus more ferarum, Latin for "sexual intercourse in the manner of wild beasts". The specific origin of the term doggy style is not known, but is presumably a reference to the initial position assumed by dogs when mating. It is described in the Kama Sutra as the cow position or the congress of a cow, and is listed in The Perfumed Garden.

LOFAR is the first new generation radio telescope, European, of ~2000 km extent, almost entirely digital and whose exploitation is based on the measurement equation formalism. It is an important breakthrough in radioastronomy because it explores deeply for the first time the low-frequency range (30-250 MHz), while having to cope with ionospheric propagation and a harsh interference environment. One of its constitutive « stations » is in Nançay, France. In the past 6 years, the exploitation of LOFAR provided many results in very different fields of astrophysics, from cosmology to planetology to astroparticle physics, but it also helped to build the new European low frequency radio community, and the tools that prepare it for the giant SKA. I will recall the operation of the instrument, and present a brief overview of the results obtained, with an emphasis on the French contribution. I will end with a few perspectives for the future of LOFAR.

The scientific life of LOFAR started on 1st december 2012, after 2 years of commissioning. LOFAR is the first new generation radio telescope, European, of ~2000 km extent, almost entirely digital and whose exploitation is based on the measurement equation formalism. It is an important breakthrough in radioastronomy because it explores deeply for the first time the low-frequency range (30-250 MHz), while having to cope with ionospheric propagation and a harsh interference environment. One of its constitutive « stations » is in Nançay, France. In the past 6 years, the exploitation of LOFAR provided many results in very different fields of astrophysics, from cosmology to planetology to astroparticle physics, but it also helped to build the new European low frequency radio community, and the tools that prepare it for the giant SKA. I will recall the operation of the instrument, and present a brief overview of the results obtained, with an emphasis on the French contribution. I will end with a few perspectives for the future of LOFAR.

Doggy style
Doggy style, also spelled doggie style, is any sex position in which a person bends over, crouches on all fours (usually on hands and knees), or lies on their abdomen, for sexual intercourse, other forms of sexual penetration or other sexual activity. Doggy style sex is a form of a rear-entry position, the other being with the receiving partner lying on the side in the spoons sex position.Non-penetrative sex in this position may also be regarded as doggy style sex. Between sex partners, the person in the doggy style position is passive or submissive, while the other partner is active or dominant. The passive partner is open to a variety of sexual activities, with the active partner being able to penetrate the vagina, the anus during anal sex, or being in a position to perform oral sex (cunnilingus, fellatio or anilingus).
History and etymology
In ancient Rome, this practice was known as coitus more ferarum, Latin for "sexual intercourse in the manner of wild beasts". The specific origin of the term doggy style is not known, but is presumably a reference to the initial position assumed by dogs when mating. It is described in the Kama Sutra as the cow position or the congress of a cow, and is listed in The Perfumed Garden.
