Haven't played WoW in years. Rolled a priest. I hear bad things about healers in WoD. Should I reroll? by aqlpswkodejifrhugtyin wow

[–]Jestible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a holy priest. I have had zero complaints with my healing. If we wipe or someone dies it's because the group/they messed up. A tank and I have soloed 3 different bosses on multiple occasions now. People just blame healers because they are horrible and lack situation awareness.

Christ man, it's cheap and a video game. Relax. Besides, they give back days quite often.

Interesting! Thanks for sharing! I've had bar discussions (yes, that nerdy) about it before as well. Glad to know I'm not the only one that argues about it.

I had issues with replication when installing a new, 2012 AD environment--not sure you'll have issues with a 2008 forest level. The problem was with DFSR. Inbox me for a full cheat sheet I've complied if you have similar issues (including moving FSMO roles).

https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/58b8cdc3-a990-46c7-a70e-a51fd6965537/sysvol-and-netlogon-shares-missing-from-new-domain-controllers-using-dfrs

Point DNS servers at themselves first, then the secondary DNS server. Tertiary to localhost.

Sysvol is fine on the same partition. Best practice is to put it on a separate disk. Depends on how much machine you get to play with. Mine is all located on a single partion on both my AD servers.

Installing in Single Exchange server role is no issue. I have the same thing in my environment. Regardless, it's best practice and recommended to install both Client Access and Mailbox role on each server deployed in your environment. There is no more edge transport role in 2013, that I'm aware of--it's part of CAS. I'd put your mailbox and exchange install on a separate disk, yes--but don't believe it's a requirement. There are easy powershell scripts to install and disable the features you've mentioned.

Naming scheme issues can be done with simple alias, cname and split DNS. Be careful with your SSL certificate settings.

Careful with backing up the database directly. It would have to be unmounted to properly do so. What about public folders? Look into a solution like Veem to help automate and simplify your backups. They have a great tool built in for Exchange database backups.

Best of luck with the Samba migration. No experience there!

Hope this helped!

[Meta] What does a typical day look like in terms of meals and snacks for everyone? by rayne7in fatlogic

Pretty generic day for me.

Breakfast: Quick 4 egg pico/cheese omelet every morning (3 whites, 1 full) with either turkey bacon or chicken sausage and a slice of toast.

Lunch: I grill/bake chicken for the weeks lunch. Sometimes I'll use canned tuna if I don't make chicken earlier in the week. Sometimes I'll just eat the same thing for dinner and lunch, I don't really mind 'boring' foods.

Dinner: Brown rice or lintels, sometimes I use those microwave rice things too if I'm feeling lazy. Occasionally I'll sub it for sweet potato fries or nonsense. Frozen bag veggies and either chicken or fish. I make enough at the start of the week to last me til the weekend.

Snacks: Small salad as a late lunch addition or before dinner. I love string cheese (jalapeno ones rule). Some weeks I'll do cottage cheese and fruit, the OStrim ostrich meat sticks, rice cakes with peanut butter and honey, etc. I just signed up for that weekly Graze snack service, too.

I do cardio in the morning, and aerobics/light weight lifting 4x a week. On days where I do heavier weights I'll have a myoplex shake post workout. Currently 6' 3" and 195 lbs (280 at my heaviest).

I hear you. I worked with her for a year, kept great communication, and really, I mean really, gave her a lot of chances. All relationships are different and I know I deserved better.
