    In superannuation many couples organise mutual pension arrangements where one will automatically inherit the other's pension on death. It's a strategy that some may have to reconsider in the light of the government's super reforms that will apply from July 1.

    An automatic pension transfer, or automatic reversionary pension (ARP) nomination, is a strategy I touched on in a recent column. This prompted a number of readers to ask questions that illustrated both the individual nature of super planning and why new rules that will apply from July 1 are likely to require a re-think of many strategies, including whether an ARP nomination remains appropriate.
