The company is flaunting a video of The Hum Rider, a fanciful car that raises above traffic height with the help of hefty hydraulic legs.

US telco Verizon has teamed up with content marketer Thinkmodo to build a vehicle with hydraulic lifts that can drive over other cars.

"Can your car do this?" the video jibes as it displays the Hum Rider rearing up on its legs and driving literally over the traffic in front of it.

It concludes by revealing the car to not be in commercial production, and goes on to spruik Hum by Verizon - a device that plugs in to your car's diagnostic port, offering services such as roadside assistance, vehicle diagnostics and speed alerts, according to its website.

The creative drive of the project is courtesy of content marketing firm Thinkmodo, who hopes for a viral spiral of its video as it has achieved in the past, according to USA Today.

The firm reportedly contracted a mechanical engineer to create the purpose-built project that took roughly eight weeks.

While it took an advertising company to realise the concept, the vehicle tweaks the imagination and hints at the potential of technology to overcome urban vices such as traffic jams.
