2010 R09 GEEL v COLL is the other #AFL #AFLHawksEagles
FINAL SCORE
HAWTHORN 19.11.125
WEST COAST 11.8.74
The Hawks are back, and in a big way, knocking off the Eagles to claim their first win of the year. Hawthorn never looked like losing either, clearly the more intense team from the word go. Cyril Rioli, Jarryd Roughead and Luke Breust all returned to form, but perhaps more exciting was the form of youngsters Tim O'Brien, James Sicily, Blake Hardwick and Billy Hartung.
Meanwhile the flat-track bully tag will doubtless re-emerge for the Eagles, who have lost their 18 game in 23 starts at the MCG.
The Hawks head into next week's clash against St Kilda in Launceston at 1-4, while remarkably the Eagles head into the Western derby against Fremantle with the same record as the Dockers (3-2).

Gunston gets a couple of late ones as icing on the cake for the Hawks. Meanwhile concern for Cripps, assisted off the ground by trainers. Looks to be some sort of leg issue.
Q4 Haw 111 WCE 68
Hawks big man Ben McEvoy has had a good night, and it continues, taking a cracking mark and adding another.
West Coast and Fremantle will both be 3-2 going into next week's Derby.

Cyril soars again, this time on the wing, and this time he takes it!
This is going to be 18 losses for West Coast in their last 23 MCG games.
Q4 Haw 105 WCE 62
Good forward pressure from West Coast results in another consolation goal to Jack Redden, but the Hawks get a quick reply through Burgoyne.
Meanwhile Adam Simpson is down on the bench coaching now. Wouldn't want to look him in the eye as an Eagles player.
Back to topQ4 Haw 99 WCE 56
Shuey kicks one against the run of play but it won't count for much in the grand scheme of things.
Q4 Haw 99 WCE 50
Party time now for the Hawks, as Roughead snaps following a boundary throw-in and adds his third of the night.
Q4 Haw 93 WCE 50
Roughead marks and slots the 500th goal of his career. What a triumphant moment for the captain, who is set to taste his first win as Hawthorn skipper.
Q4 Haw 87 WCE 50
Rioli juggles a nice mark and goes back from 45m to goal! Surely they're home now!
Three-quarter time
Hawthorn 12.9.81
West Coast 7.8.50
The Hawks look set to break their drought, withstanding a brief Eagles resistance. The Hawks can be most pleased about the showings of youngster O'Brien, Hartung, Sicily and Hardwick. For the Eagles it's turning into another MCG horror show. Again they are living up to their reputation as flat-track bullies.
Back to topThe scoring has dried up a bit but the Hawks are in control. West Coast need a dramatic momentum shift. Hawks youngster Blake Hardwick is worth a mention, up to 17 disposals.
Q3 Haw 81 WCE 49
This could be the breakout game for Tim O'Brien, who goes back from 50m and kicks another!
Q3 Haw 75 WCE 49
Eagles having a better time of it, but Cripps misses a snap. Meanwhile Sicily is getting some attention on the bench.
Elliot Yeo overcooks a pass for LeCras looking for his man inside 50. Wasted chance for the Eagles.
Q3 Haw 75 WCE 48
Darling playing a lone hand up forward. He goes back for a career-best equalling fifth goal, but misses.
