Today we're looking at comparing a $1,000.00 camera VS an $8,000.00 camera. Specifically, the 80D vs the 1DXMK2. I have seen the 80D on sale as low as 999.99 which is why I went with that comparison price. Keep currency conversions in mind.
2 MASSIVELY different cameras. You may be saying, why would you compare 2 cameras on such a drastically different scale? That makes no sense and no one would ever compare those two - Yes and No. I wanted to go over a few of the features that MAKE a camera 8,000.00 opposed to those that don't. The quality difference is also incredibly evident.

Best Camera For Beginners & Best Beginners Camera (DSLR Photography)
Hey whats up everyone, my name’s Chris Winter and in this video, I’m going to go through some of the Best Cameras For Beginners so you can decide which one you will be best for you.
So today’s question asks “Hey Chris, I’m just starting out in photography. I’ve been using my phone to take photos but want to step up to a better camera, what would you suggest”.Well to start off with, congratulatons on wanting to get started with photographhy. It's one of my favourites thins in life and I’m sure you’ll get the bug and you’ll love it too.
So theree are a lot of great cameras to learn photography with, and they don't have to be too expensive eitehr. First off, good work taking photos with your phone. I often encourage people to learn to take great photos with your phone because it really makes you be creative because your phone is somewhat limited compared to a dalr. Phones are super easy to use with their large displays, you can take a tonne of photos for almost no cost and because they’ve generally got a fixed focal length, so you need to use their your to move rather than just zooming.
But as you’re looking for a new camera, I’d first take a look at getting an older DSLR like the Nikon D3100. The D3100 came out a few years back so it's a little older now, but it can still take some lovely photos. And if you pair it up with a nice prime lens, which is a lens thatt cant zoom, you’ll eb able to learn to take great shots with that nice background blur.
A good cheap lens that a lot of beginners use is the 50mm 1.8. These are pretty cheap and are great for portraits because you can really get a shallow depth of field and isolate your subject.
If you want to get an older Canon DSLR i’d look at the Canon T2i or Canon T3i. These are super cheap these days and have good 1080p filming as well. If you dont’ want to get an older or second hand camera, you could look at a few of these dslr’s. Firstly nikon just released theyr D3400 DSLR.
This one comes in at around about $500 and is great value for money. It’s can shoot at 5 frames per second and can also wirelessly ternser photos to your phone aswell. Canon have their T6 camera, or called the 1300d if you're outside of amercia, and this is another great cameraa to learn on.
It’s got some pretty basicc controls but it also has all the manual settings for when you get a bit more comfortable with the camera. One of my favourite little cameras is this one here, the panasonic Gm1. This one here is about 3 years old now so it's pretty cheap these days at around $300. It’s one of the smallest cameras that you can change lenses on in the world but it can still take lovely shots. Not only that, it's also got a cool vintage look which I really love.
If you pair it up with a nice lens like this one here, the 20mm 1.7 you can really get some lovely photos as well. One of the most popular cameras from Sony is another one that you could look at. It’s called the Sony A6000 and it's a few years old now but it’s still Great. Theres a few new models out now, the A6300 and the A6500, but for a beginner, I think the A6000 would be mroe than enough. You could also look at the Pansonic G7.
It’s a a brillaint little camera with great which records in 4k as well, so if you’re into making videos, that could be a good choice for you as well. So they some of the best cameras for beginners.

"What should I get for my first camera?" is such a common question. It also has so many different answers like, "This brand new camera," "Whatever suits you," and "Just pick one and don't look back, they're all the same." Which may be true, but does not really help someone new to photography.
My goal here is to not only specifically answer this question, but to save people as much money as possible while still offering the modern features they want.

Camera
A camera is an optical instrument for recording images, which may be stored locally, transmitted to another location, or both. The images may be individual still photographs or sequences of images constituting videos or movies. The word camera comes from camera obscura, which means "dark chamber" and is the Latin name of the original device for projecting an image of external reality onto a flat surface. The modern photographic camera evolved from the camera obscura. The functioning of the camera is very similar to the functioning of the human eye.
Functional description
A camera may work with the light of the visible spectrum or with other portions of the electromagnetic spectrum. A still camera is an optical device which creates a single image of an object or scene, and records it on an electronic sensor or photographic film. All cameras use the same basic design: light enters an enclosed box through a converging lens and an image is recorded on a light-sensitive medium. A shutter mechanism controls the length of time that light can enter the camera. Most photographic cameras have functions that allow a person to view the scene to be recorded, allow for a desired part of the scene to be in focus, and to control the exposure so that it is not too bright or too dim. A display, often a liquid crystal display (LCD), permits the user to view scene to be recorded and settings such as ISO speed, exposure, and shutter speed.

Film festival

Short film
A short film is any film not long enough to be considered a feature film. Although no consensus exists as to where that boundary is drawn, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences defines a short film as "an original motion picture that has a running time of 40 minutes or less, including all credits". The term featurette originally applied to a film longer than a short subject, but shorter than a standard feature film.
The increasingly rare term short subject means approximately the same thing. An industry term, it carries more of an assumption that the film is shown as part of a presentation along with a feature film. Short is an abbreviation for either term. Short films are often screened at local, national, or international film festivals and made by independent filmmakers for non profit, either with a low budget or no budget at all. They are usually funded by film grants, non profit organizations, sponsor, or personal funds. Short films are generally used by filmmakers to gain experience and/or prove their talent in order to gain funding for future films from private investors, entertainment companies, or film studios.

So today’s question asks “Hey Chris, I’m just starting out in photography. I’ve been using my phone to take photos but want to step up to a better camera, what would you suggest”.Well to start off with, congratulatons on wanting to get started with photographhy. It's one of my favourites thins in life and I’m sure you’ll get the bug and you’ll love it too. So theree are a lot of great cameras to learn photography with, and they don't have to be too expensive eitehr. First off, good work taking photos with your phone. I often encourage people to learn to take great photos with your phone because it really makes you be creative because your phone is somewhat limited compared to a dalr. Phones are super easy to use with their large displays, you can take a tonne of photos for almost no cost and because they’ve generally got a fixed focal length, so you need to use their your to move rather than just zooming. But as you’re looking for a new camera, I’d first take a look at getting an older DSLR like the Nikon D3100. The D3100 came out a few years back so it's a little older now, but it can still take some lovely photos. And if you pair it up with a nice prime lens, which is a lens thatt cant zoom, you’ll eb able to learn to take great shots with that nice background blur. A good cheap lens that a lot of beginners use is the 50mm 1.8. These are pretty cheap and are great for portraits because you can really get a shallow depth of field and isolate your subject. If you want to get an older Canon DSLR i’d look at the Canon T2i or Canon T3i. These are super cheap these days and have good 1080p filming as well. If you dont’ want to get an older or second hand camera, you could look at a few of these dslr’s. Firstly nikon just released theyr D3400 DSLR. This one comes in at around about $500 and is great value for money. It’s can shoot at 5 frames per second and can also wirelessly ternser photos to your phone aswell. Canon have their T6 camera, or called the 1300d if you're outside of amercia, and this is another great cameraa to learn on. It’s got some pretty basicc controls but it also has all the manual settings for when you get a bit more comfortable with the camera. One of my favourite little cameras is this one here, the panasonic Gm1. This one here is about 3 years old now so it's pretty cheap these days at around $300. It’s one of the smallest cameras that you can change lenses on in the world but it can still take lovely shots. Not only that, it's also got a cool vintage look which I really love. If you pair it up with a nice lens like this one here, the 20mm 1.7 you can really get some lovely photos as well. One of the most popular cameras from Sony is another one that you could look at. It’s called the Sony A6000 and it's a few years old now but it’s still Great. Theres a few new models out now, the A6300 and the A6500, but for a beginner, I think the A6000 would be mroe than enough. You could also look at the Pansonic G7. It’s a a brillaint little camera with great which records in 4k as well, so if you’re into making videos, that could be a good choice for you as well. So they some of the best cameras for beginners. -

Plot: The Stevie Wondershow is a dark comedy about Stevie, a lonely, strange, and quiet middle manager. To his employees he's spineless but in his apartment he's the star of the craziest, most off-the-wall TV show imaginable. Plot: 1997: A student of folklore named Andrea Roberti hypothesizes the possible link between the horror literature of H.P. Lovecraft and the dark folk tales of the Po Delta, a mysterious and remote part of northern Italy. 2002: One of the directors of the film comes across a manuscript in Montecatini (Italy) which may have belonged to the American writer. This journal, dated 1926, describes travels in Italy through the Po Delta in search of inspiration in the form of local folk stories: the Filò Tales. 2004: A small, tough crew of international filmmakers is put together with the help of David, a New York actor, to make a documentary on the finding of the journal and on the links between Lovecraft and the Po Delta. If the manuscript really did belong to Lovecraft, it would be an extraordinary discovery. As soon as they begin, however, the filmmakers find that Andrea Roberti disappeared in mysterious circumstances many years before, his car found abandoned on the banks of the Po. The crew sets up its base in the town of Loreo - referred to simply as L. in the manuscript - as the author of the journal did. During their investigations the atmosphere of animosity and foreboding rises and they soon discover that strange and disturbing things have been happening in the area. Events that the locals are eager to keep secret. The film "Road to L." is the true account of what took place behind the scenes of the 11 day shoot, reporting how the failures and revelations experienced in L. came to resemble ever more a journey to... Hell. Did Lovecraft really come into contact with something sinister? Did Andrea Roberti stumble across something he wasn't meant to find? The documentary makers are stepping too far into the unknown...

Today we're looking at comparing a $1,000.00 camera VS an $8,000.00 camera. Specifically, the 80D vs the 1DXMK2. I have seen the 80D on sale as low as 999.99 which is why I went with that comparison price. Keep currency conversions in mind.
2 MASSIVELY different cameras. You may be saying, why would you compare 2 cameras on such a drastically different scale? Best Camera For Beginners & Best Beginners Camera (DSLR Photography)
Hey whats up everyone, my name’s Chris Winter and in this video, I’m going to go through some of the Best Cameras For Beginners so you can decide which one you will be best for you.
So today’s question asks “Hey Chris, I’m just starting out in photography. I’ve been using my phone to take photos but want to step up to a better camera, what would you suggest”.Well to start off with, congratulatons on wanting to get started with photographhy. It's one of my favourites thins in life and I’m sure you’ll get the bug and you’ll love it too.
So theree are a lot of great cameras to learn photography with, and they don't have to be too expensive eitehr. First off, good work taking photos with your phone. I often encourage people to learn to take great photos with your phone because it really makes you be creative because your phone is somewhat limited compared to a dalr. Phones are super easy to use with their large displays, you can take a tonne of photos for almost no cost and because they’ve generally got a fixed focal length, so you need to use their your to move rather than just zooming.
But as you’re looking for a new camera, I’d first take a look at getting an older DSLR like the Nikon D3100. The D3100 came out a few years back so it's a little older now, but it can still take some lovely photos. And if you pair it up with a nice prime lens, which is a lens thatt cant zoom, you’ll eb able to learn to take great shots with that nice background blur.
A good cheap lens that a lot of beginners use is the 50mm 1.8. These are pretty cheap and are great for portraits because you can really get a shallow depth of field and isolate your subject.
If you want to get an older Canon DSLR i’d look at the Canon T2i or Canon T3i. These are super cheap these days and have good 1080p filming as well. If you dont’ want to get an older or second hand camera, you could look at a few of these dslr’s. Firstly nikon just released theyr D3400 DSLR.
This one comes in at around about $500 and is great value for money. It’s can shoot at 5 frames per second and can also wirelessly ternser photos to your phone aswell. Canon have their T6 camera, or called the 1300d if you're outside of amercia, and this is another great cameraa to learn on.
It’s got some pretty basicc controls but it also has all the manual settings for when you get a bit more comfortable with the camera. One of my favourite little cameras is this one here, the panasonic Gm1. This one here is about 3 years old now so it's pretty cheap these days at around $300. It’s one of the smallest cameras that you can change lenses on in the world but it can still take lovely shots. Not only that, it's also got a cool vintage look which I really love.
If you pair it up with a nice lens like this one here, the 20mm 1.7 you can really get some lovely photos as well. One of the most popular cameras from Sony is another one that you could look at. It’s called the Sony A6000 and it's a few years old now but it’s still Great. Theres a few new models out now, the A6300 and the A6500, but for a beginner, I think the A6000 would be mroe than enough. You could also look at the Pansonic G7.
It’s a a brillaint little camera with great which records in 4k as well, so if you’re into making videos, that could be a good choice for you as well. So they some of the best cameras for beginners.

Aside from a few unfinished running-around-in-the-woods-with-guns experiments from my early teens, this is my first film. I made it because I love all the different aspects of filmmaking, because I was tired of my fear of failure, and because I wanted to see what would happen if I just finished one. Maybe this will lead to bigger and better films; maybe not. Either way I learned something.
The story was largely born from its constraints. It had to be doable in my free time, and I had to be able to shoot it during my vacation in Nags Head, NC—with a budget of only $50, to cover the props (I'd previously owned the Canon T2i, lenses, and Logic Pro, and used the free 30-day trial of FCPX). I wanted it to be a simple story with a mysterious twist or two.
I got lots of advice from fellow filmmakers—Andrew, Mitchell, Kyle, Brian, Shepherd, Drew, David, and others. If you like the film, thank you Andrew, Mitchell, Kyle, Brian, Shepherd, Drew, and David. If you thought it was rubbish, they only tried to make it better than it was. And thanks again to Abbie and Gabe, without whose talents I couldn't have made it.
Some have asked about Emily; the film wasn't written about her (she passed away while it was in post-production), but she was a dear friend of my family and many others, and it was an honor to dedicate it to her memory.

After several DAYS of trying to upload this video to Vimeo, we've ultimately had to reduce the bit-rate compression down to 18mbps (Vimeo recommends 5mbps, ha!), which is down from our minimum quality level of 40mbps. This means the SOURCE file you can download will also inhibit some amount of compression blocking and smearing, even in the Cinema Camera footage, which doesn't originally exist in our ProRes master file. We've tried EVERYTHING, multiple types of uploads, different encoding methods, you name it.
Although the downloadable source file is a little better than the streaming version, it still doesn't compare to the original ProRes source file which imposes no banding, compression artifacts, or chrominance sub-sampling (down from 4:4:4 to H.264's 4:2:0 space). Please keep this in mind when viewing.
Unfortunately Vimeo only allows 100 downloads per day, so check back to download the 2GB file if the queue is filled. And remember to always watch in FULL 1080 HD or you will have added scaling and moiré issues on some of the tests than what is already been added by Vimeo and our horrid bit-rate restrictions.

Today we're looking at comparing a $1,000.00 camera VS an $8,000.00 camera. Specifically, the 80D vs the 1DXMK2. I have seen the 80D on sale as low as 999.99 which is why I went with that comparison price. Keep currency conversions in mind.
2 MASSIVELY different cameras. You may be saying, why would you compare 2 cameras on such a drastically different scale? That makes no sense and no one would ever compare those two - Yes and No. I wanted to go over a few of the features that MAKE a camera 8,000.00 opposed to those that don't. The quality difference is also incredibly evident.

Best Camera For Beginners & Best Beginners Camera (DSLR Photography)
Hey whats up everyone, my name’s Chris Winter and in this video, I’m going to go through some of the Best Cameras For Beginners so you can decide which one you will be best for you.
So today’s question asks “Hey Chris, I’m just starting out in photography. I’ve been using my phone to take photos but want to step up to a better camera, what would you suggest”.Well to start off with, congratulatons on wanting to get started with photographhy. It's one of my favourites thins in life and I’m sure you’ll get the bug and you’ll love it too.
So theree are a lot of great cameras to learn photography with, and they don't have to be too expensive eitehr. First off, good work taking photos with your phone. I often encourage people to learn to take great photos with your phone because it really makes you be creative because your phone is somewhat limited compared to a dalr. Phones are super easy to use with their large displays, you can take a tonne of photos for almost no cost and because they’ve generally got a fixed focal length, so you need to use their your to move rather than just zooming.
But as you’re looking for a new camera, I’d first take a look at getting an older DSLR like the Nikon D3100. The D3100 came out a few years back so it's a little older now, but it can still take some lovely photos. And if you pair it up with a nice prime lens, which is a lens thatt cant zoom, you’ll eb able to learn to take great shots with that nice background blur.
A good cheap lens that a lot of beginners use is the 50mm 1.8. These are pretty cheap and are great for portraits because you can really get a shallow depth of field and isolate your subject.
If you want to get an older Canon DSLR i’d look at the Canon T2i or Canon T3i. These are super cheap these days and have good 1080p filming as well. If you dont’ want to get an older or second hand camera, you could look at a few of these dslr’s. Firstly nikon just released theyr D3400 DSLR.
This one comes in at around about $500 and is great value for money. It’s can shoot at 5 frames per second and can also wirelessly ternser photos to your phone aswell. Canon have their T6 camera, or called the 1300d if you're outside of amercia, and this is another great cameraa to learn on.
It’s got some pretty basicc controls but it also has all the manual settings for when you get a bit more comfortable with the camera. One of my favourite little cameras is this one here, the panasonic Gm1. This one here is about 3 years old now so it's pretty cheap these days at around $300. It’s one of the smallest cameras that you can change lenses on in the world but it can still take lovely shots. Not only that, it's also got a cool vintage look which I really love.
If you pair it up with a nice lens like this one here, the 20mm 1.7 you can really get some lovely photos as well. One of the most popular cameras from Sony is another one that you could look at. It’s called the Sony A6000 and it's a few years old now but it’s still Great. Theres a few new models out now, the A6300 and the A6500, but for a beginner, I think the A6000 would be mroe than enough. You could also look at the Pansonic G7.
It’s a a brillaint little camera with great which records in 4k as well, so if you’re into making videos, that could be a good choice for you as well. So they some of the best cameras for beginners.

Aside from a few unfinished running-around-in-the-woods-with-guns experiments from my early teens, this is my first film. I made it because I love all the different aspects of filmmaking, because I was tired of my fear of failure, and because I wanted to see what would happen if I just finished one. Maybe this will lead to bigger and better films; maybe not. Either way I learned something.
The story was largely born from its constraints. It had to be doable in my free time, and I had to be able to shoot it during my vacation in Nags Head, NC—with a budget of only $50, to cover the props (I'd previously owned the Canon T2i, lenses, and Logic Pro, and used the free 30-day trial of FCPX). I wanted it to be a simple story with a mysterious twist or two.
I got lots of advice from fellow filmmakers—Andrew, Mitchell, Kyle, Brian, Shepherd, Drew, David, and others. If you like the film, thank you Andrew, Mitchell, Kyle, Brian, Shepherd, Drew, and David. If you thought it was rubbish, they only tried to make it better than it was. And thanks again to Abbie and Gabe, without whose talents I couldn't have made it.
Some have asked about Emily; the film wasn't written about her (she passed away while it was in post-production), but she was a dear friend of my family and many others, and it was an honor to dedicate it to her memory.

After several DAYS of trying to upload this video to Vimeo, we've ultimately had to reduce the bit-rate compression down to 18mbps (Vimeo recommends 5mbps, ha!), which is down from our minimum quality level of 40mbps. This means the SOURCE file you can download will also inhibit some amount of compression blocking and smearing, even in the Cinema Camera footage, which doesn't originally exist in our ProRes master file. We've tried EVERYTHING, multiple types of uploads, different encoding methods, you name it.
Although the downloadable source file is a little better than the streaming version, it still doesn't compare to the original ProRes source file which imposes no banding, compression artifacts, or chrominance sub-sampling (down from 4:4:4 to H.264's 4:2:0 space). Please keep this in mind when viewing.
Unfortunately Vimeo only allows 100 downloads per day, so check back to download the 2GB file if the queue is filled. And remember to always watch in FULL 1080 HD or you will have added scaling and moiré issues on some of the tests than what is already been added by Vimeo and our horrid bit-rate restrictions.
