How to ice cupcakes

Dan Lepard shows you three different way to make your cupcakes look really impressive.

1. Dollop a spoonful of icing onto a cupcake and swirl it with a knife.

2. Fill a disposable piping bag with the icing and, starting at the outside edge of a cupcake, pipe around the cupcake in a spiral towards the centre.

3. Fill a piping bag fitted with a large star nozzle with the icing and, starting at the outside edge of a cupcake, pipe around the edge of the cupcake in a spiral towards the centre. When you reach the top, pull up quickly to finish the swirl.
