Mar-a-Lago gets promotional blog posts on government websites
Not 100% sure why today was the day this State Dept post from Apr. 4 on Mar a Lago went viral but boy are folks mad https://www.buzzfeed.com/hayesbrown/the-state-department-blogged-about-mar-a-lago-and-people?utm_term=.wszQDkE24#.xg41YZqAw …

Why is Mar-A-Lago being promoted on two State Department websites? https://uk.usembassy.gov/mar-lago-winter-white-house/ … https://share.america.gov/mar-a-lago-winter-white-house/ …pic.twitter.com/MIRIJH8fsD
Update: State Dept. spokesman says he doesn't know why the State Dept. posted this about Trump's for-profit business https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/24/us/politics/mar-a-lago-winter-white-house-state-department.html?partner=rss&emc=rss …
The @StateDept should not be using their resources―funded by taxpayers―to promote Trump's $25 million vacation home. This is absurd.https://twitter.com/ZekeJMiller/status/856570705386909697 …

Sooo, @hayesbrown wrote about how "The State Department Wrote About Mar-A-Lago And People Are Not Happy" https://www.buzzfeed.com/hayesbrown/the-state-department-blogged-about-mar-a-lago-and-people?utm_term=.xuzaE6nYxA …

... but this misses the fact that a government website referred to Trump's use of Mar-a-Lago as "a dream deferred."pic.twitter.com/Ae9xPCmGI7
the fate of Mar-a-Lago is pretty far from what Hughes had in mind when he wrote "a dream deferred"
Going to take a contrary view here: http://www.politico.com/story/2017/04/24/state-department-us-embassy-mar-a-lago-237537 …
Share America is meant to explain America to the world. A group of staff writers explain Americana to the world
These are not "news" items so they aren't reviewed by a press officer who would look out for such concerns.
In a large office the staff are trusted to make decisions and I can see how "let's tell the backstory of Mar-a-lago" seemed like a good idea
no evidence that anyone at State is directing Mar-a-lago be promoted & the lack of a leadership to exercise oversight is well documented
It was an error in judgement, but the White House has done much more to create this as "normal" than one writer at @StateDept
Attn is important here but more important is not to assign malicious intent to what may just be an error
The fact that Trump has put staff in this position is the real problem.
