Tara Axford is the art director of The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age’s Good Weekend. When she’s not combining words and pictures in the fast-paced world of a weekly magazine, she’s a mixed-media artist, whose focus is on printmaking, collage and ephemeral objects. For her, joy is found in seeking out unique pieces that someone has created by hand.
Restaurateur
Rebecca Yazbek started out in design, but food and wine took a hold and she is now co-owner of Nomad restaurant and Nomad Wine Store in Sydney’s Surry Hills, which showcase the best of Australia’s independent producers and winemakers. Yazbek’s abiding passion for design brought together such Australian talent as Henry Wilson, CJ Hendry and Ross Didier to collaborate on Nomad’s striking fitout.
