American Dental Association Celebrates 2016 Accomplishments

Video and Infographic Highlight ADA’s Best

CHICAGO – The American Dental Association (ADA) released its 2016 video annual report and infographic, highlighting the major accomplishments for the association and the profession of dentistry in 2016. 

“From patient education to advocacy efforts, we accomplished quite a bit in 2016,” said ADA President Gary L. Roberts, D.D.S. “We’re honored to celebrate our collective success together, which we credit to our amazing members and dynamic state and local dental societies.”

The accomplishments featured include:
  • 477 million patient visits to ADA dentists nationwide.
  • 10.6 million visits to ADA websites.
  • 4.3 billion media impressions, including mentions by media in 29 countries.
  • 150,112 hours of continuing education completed by ADA members.
  • The election of four dentists into the U.S. House of Representatives.
  • Treatment of 300,000 children through the Give Kids A Smile program.
  • Six new patents and 20 published articles from the Volpe Research Center.
