Sport & Exercise Science

Victoria University's College of Sport and Exercise Science provides academic programs for everyone who wants to study any aspect of sport and exercise. The range of undergraduate and research degrees provide the opportunity to get the foundation training in sport from bachelor degrees to PhD level research.

College staff, including our researchers in the Institute of Sport, Exercise Science & Active Living (ISEAL), are involved in research that contributes to all aspects of the sport and exercise industries. Our world class sport and exercise facility boasts an Altitude Hotel, biomechanics, biochemistry and exercise physiology labs in purpose built research and teaching facilities.

Our facilities

We offer placement opportunities with over 350 sport industry employers. We will provide you with many other opportunities to develop real-world skills.

Our students enjoy and train in the best sports learning facilities in the Southern Hemisphere. These $68 million state-of-the-art sports learning and research facilities include an altitude hotel, exercise physiology, biomechanics, and motor control and biofeedback labs. The Victoria University Whitten Oval Stadium is home to the Western Bulldogs Football Club and includes our Sport and Recreation Learning Centre and student-run massage clinics.

Elite athlete program

Our elite athlete program helps our students successfully complete their studies while training and competing at an elite level. Our student-athletes have competed at major local and international events, including the World University Games, the Commonwealth Games and the Olympics.

We recognise the challenges of combining elite sport with an academic workload and provide the support you need to be successful on and off the field.
