Many of Republic's apartments will capture views across Lake Ginninderra. Photo: Supplied Sales at Canberra’s largest mixed-use development, Republic, will officially launch on Saturday and Geocon has released the first look inside the Belconnen precinct.
Businesses slated for the first stage of the precinct include a harvest market, gastropub, deli, cafe, distillery and tapas bar.
The first tower, a boomerang-shaped 14-storey building at the front of development, will house 213 apartments in mostly one and two-bedroom configurations. About 10 per cent of the apartments have three bedrooms.

Geocon managing director Nick Georgalis said pre-launch inquiries have been “overwhelming”.
“What we have seen is a take up of everything across the board,” Mr Georgalis said.
“We’ve got a good mix of property and offerings for everyone. It’s a huge range that accommodates investors, owner-occupiers, downsizers and first home buyers.”

The staged project will take about 10 years to complete and Mr Georgalis said the display suite aims to show potential residents how the entire precinct will come together.
“To give people an understanding of what’s going to be there in the long term is a bit of a task, but we’ve done that quite well,” Mr Georgalis said.
“What we have here is five buildings and we’re addressing how these buildings will complement each other and work in synergy with the neighbouring buildings in the future. Maintaining views from every angle and addressing privacy issues is a big part of the whole precinct.”

Mr Georgalis said the development has been illustrated in a mix of physical and digital displays.
“It will give people a good understanding of how it will look, what your outlook will look like and where [the apartment] is located in the building,” Mr Georgalis said.
Geocon is also launching an iPad app, which allows prospective buyers to take a 360-tour of the tower.
Construction is on track to commence in October and completion is expected in January 2019.
The display suite is on the ground floor of Geocon’s neighbouring Wayfarer development and will open at 10am on Saturday.
