Songwriter

Peter has been writing songs since he was a schoolboy. “It’s usually a lot of work,” he says, “But occasionally I wake up with a complete song in my head. I have learned the hard way that when this happens I have to get the song written or recorded before I do anything else–otherwise it will slip away from me.” Peter’s ballad “Vicksburg,” about his own great-great grandfather’s brush with death at the hands of rebel soldiers at the end of the Civil War, was winner of the 2014 Maine Songwriting Contest. A song he co-authored with Joe Triplett while the two were bandmates in DC’s Claude Jones was recorded by Rod Stewart in the 1980′s and was recently re-released by Warner Brothers on a compilation CD set.
