Dear viewers, I put together this video of my summer holidays in Kefalonia, Greece. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I enjoyed filming it! Bellow you will find some useful information if you’re planning a holiday to this island! Sit back and relax a little hint of the Greek lifestyle. Comment if you have any questions or insight you would like to share and thumbs up if you liked the video! ;-) Cheers Rosyypop Getting there and accommodation: We took a flight at the crack of dawn from Athens (Eleftherios Venizelos), therefore, arriving at something like 7 am… From the airport of Kefalonia we grabbed a taxi to Agia Efimia. (For something like 1 hour we paid 50-60€ in case you are wondering). During our stay in Agia Efimia we stayed at the Waterside Apartments. This place was simply perfect and the owners (and their pup Cookie) were lovely. After a few days we moved to the other side of the island and stayed at the Olive Grove Studio & Apartments in Svoronáta. Key locations: - Sami: on the road from Afia Efimia to Sami there are the most beautiful desert beaches so make sure to check them out. - Antisamos beach: beautiful and sunbeds are free! - Myrthos Beach: if you have your own vehicle make sure you arrive around 9am. At that moment the beach will be almost desert and is incredibly beautiful. At something like 10am the big buses arrive and the beach gets literally crowded. At that point be aware that you won’t find any sunbeds. - Melissani Cave: best time to visit is lunch time – don’t make the same mistake as we did and go late afternoon. - Argostoli - Lassi Activities: I highly recommend you go riding and try the kayak. Both activities were lots of fun. Riding: Bavarian Horse Riding Stables - Sami, Kefalonia. Send an email or give a call to book your ride. We did the 2 hour ride in the mountain but there are lots of other trails available depending on where you want to go and how long you want to ride. Sea kayaking: You’ll want to do this activity if you stay close to Argostoli. We did the day-trip “Argostoli Lighthouse to Minies (South Kefalonia)”. It’s perfect for beginners and no worries you don’t have to be the sportiest person ever you’ll be just fine. The staff will give you dry bags (I put my camera in them and had no issue) and a shirt to keep you cool throughout the day.
