What to do on the Busselton Jetty

The most iconic sight in Busselton is the jetty. This pier is the longest in the southern hemisphere. It stretches 2 km out to sea and is a hub for many activities, both in and out of the water. The jetty is popular with divers, as numerous marine mammals and fish swim in the waters surrounding the wood structure.

If you would like to get a glimpse of local marine life without getting in the water, head to the jetty’s underwater observatory and information centre. You can choose to walk along the jetty or hop aboard the train that runs the length of the pier. This is a favourite option for families with young children.

Family Activities in Busselton

Busselton is a ready-made holiday destination for families. Once you’ve explored the jetty and beaches, you can take younger children to Wonky Windmill Farm and Eco Park. While the kids feed and pet farm animals or run around the play area, relax at the cafe. For a taste of eras past, check out Busselton’s drive-in theatre. Set your lounge chairs on the grass or climb onto the roof of your car for evening of old-fashioned entertainment.

How to Get to Busselton

Busselton is only 250 km from Perth. There are many ways to get to Busselton. You can fly from Perth or Albany to Busselton Airport, 10 minutes from town. Alternately, take the scenic route and drive the distance. If you don’t have access to a car, a bus service also connects the WA capital to Busselton.
