Mystery $3.3m Oz Lotto winner bought ticket at Five Dock Newsagency

A lucky punter who bought an Oz Lotto ticket at a newsagent in Sydney's inner west may not yet know that he or she has become an instant multimillionaire.

The mystery person, who scooped $3.3 million in Tuesday night's draw, bought the ticket at the Five Dock Newsagency on Great North Road in Five Dock.

What happens when you win lotto?

It's a dream for many but only a handful of lucky people will get to experience the process of what happens if you come across those winning numbers.

NSW Lotteries spokesman Matt Hart said the Sydney player was one of three division one winners in Tuesday night's draw. The other two winners were from the ACT and the Northern Territory.

Mr Hart said the Sydney ticket was not registered to a Players Club card, and officials had no way of getting in touch with the winner.

"Our missing millionaire could be a local resident or someone who bought the entry while visiting the region," he said.

"We don't know who yet, but we'd love to unite the winner with their $3.3 million windfall."

Sally Tadros, the owner of Five Dock Newsagency, said her newsagency had sold a division two winning entry a few years ago, "but this is the biggest prize of recent years".

"We can't wait for the customer to check their ticket and discover the big news for themselves. We're ready to celebrate with them," she said.

The six winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1209 on Tuesday were 42, 13, 33, 44, 39, 29 and 27. The supplementary numbers were 15 and 31.
