Haiphong (Vietnamese: Hải Phòng, listen) is the third largest city of Vietnam and northern Vietnam's most important seaport with its deep-water anchorage and large maritime facilities. The city's name means "coastal defense" and it is nicknamed the Flamboyant City because of the many Delonix regia planted throughout it.
Haiphong is the home of Lê Chân, one of the female generals under the command of the Trưng Sisters who rose against Chinese rule in 40 AD and ruled until their defeat in 43 AD. Centuries later under the Mạc Dynasty the area earned the appellation Hải tần Phòng thủ ("defensive coastal area") as it protected the eastern flank of Mac kings' home province.
By the 19th century at the end of Nguyễn Emperor Tự Đức's reign, the Hang Kenh Communal House in what is now the city's Le Chan district was made the administrative seat of An Dương District, restoring its regional importance. The area by then had developed into a sizable commercial port.
Cần Thơ ( listen) is the fourth-largest city in Vietnam, and the largest city in the Mekong Delta.
It is noted for its floating market, rice paper-making village, and picturesque rural canals. It had a population of 1.2 million as of 2011, and is located on the south bank of the Hau River, a branch of the Mekong. In 2007, about 50 people died when the Cần Thơ Bridge collapsed, causing Vietnam's worst engineering disaster. In 2011, Can Tho International Airport opened.
The city is nicknamed the "western capital" (Tây Đô), and is located 169 kilometres (105 miles) from Ho Chi Minh City. Cần Thơ's climate is tropical and monsoonal with two seasons: rainy, from May to November; and dry, from December to April. Average annual humidity is 83%, rainfall 1,635 mm (64 in) and temperature 27 °C (81 °F).
The city is an independent municipality at the same level as provinces of Vietnam. It was created in the beginning of 2004 by a split of the former Cần Thơ Province into two new administrative units: Cần Thơ City and Hậu Giang Province.

Vietnam (UK /ˌvjɛtˈnæm, -ˈnɑːm/, US i/ˌviːətˈnɑːm, -ˈnæm/;Vietnamese: Việt Nam [viət˨ næm˧]), officially the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (SRV; Vietnamese: Cộng Hòa Xã Hội Chủ Nghĩa Việt Nam ( listen)), is the easternmost country on the Indochina Peninsula in Southeast Asia. With an estimated 90.5 million inhabitants as of 2014, it is the world's 14th-most-populous country, and the eighth-most-populous Asian country. The name Vietnam translates as "Southern Viet" (synonymous with the much older term Nam Viet); it was first officially adopted in 1802 by Emperor Gia Long, and was adopted again in 1945 with the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam under Ho Chi Minh. The country is bordered by China to the north, Laos to the northwest, Cambodia to the southwest, and Malaysia across the South China Sea to the southeast. Its capital city has been Hanoi since the reunification of North and South Vietnam in 1975.

Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnamese: Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh; IPA: [tʰan fə ho̞˧˩ t͡ɕɪj˧ mɪ̈n˧]), formerly named and still also referred to as Saigon (Vietnamese: Sài Gòn; IPA: [sâj ɣɔ̂ŋ], French: Saïgon), is the largest city in Vietnam. It was once known as Prey Nokor, an important Khmer seaport prior to annexation by the Vietnamese in the 17th century. Under the name Saigon, it was the capital of the French colony of Cochinchina and later of the independent republic of South Vietnam 1955–75. On 2 July 1976, Saigon merged with the surrounding Gia Định Province and was officially renamed Ho Chi Minh City after revolutionary leader Hồ Chí Minh (although the name Sài Gòn is still unofficially widely used).
The metropolitan area, which consists of the Ho Chi Minh City metropolitan area, Thủ Dầu Một, Biên Hòa, Vũng Tàu and surrounding towns, is populated by more than 9 million people, making it the most populous metropolitan area in Vietnam. The city's population is expected to grow to 13.9 million in 2025.

Hanoi (/hæˈnɔɪ/ or US /həˈnɔɪ/; Vietnamese: Hà Nội [ha˨˩ nɔj˩]) is the capital of Vietnam and the country's second largest city. Its population in 2009 was estimated at 2.6 million for urban districts and 7 million for the metropolitan jurisdiction. The number of population in 2015 was estimated at 7.7 million people. From 1010 until 1802, it was the most important political centre of Vietnam. It was eclipsed by Huế, the imperial capital of Vietnam during the Nguyễn Dynasty (1802–1945), but Hanoi served as the capital of French Indochina from 1902 to 1954. From 1954 to 1976, it was the capital of North Vietnam, and it became the capital of a reunified Vietnam in 1976, after the North's victory in the Vietnam War.
The city lies on the right bank of the Red River. Hanoi is 1,760 km (1,090 mi) north of Ho Chi Minh City and 120 km (75 mi) west of Hai Phong city.
October 2010 officially marked 1000 years since the establishment of the city. The Hanoi Ceramic Mosaic Mural is a 4 km ceramic mosaic mural created to mark the occasion.

Today, Sino-Vietnamese relations are again hitting a low point with escalation of tension due to South China Sea dispute. In this video, we will look into 5 weapons that Vietnam can use to block any aggression from China. INTRODUCTION: In 1975, the armed forces of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (Vietnam People’s Army) defeated the Republic of Vietnam, capturing Saigon and putting to end nearly thirty years of civil war. The victory came 3 years after the United States, unwilling to pay the price of continued engagement, left the war. In 1979, the People’s Republic of China invaded Vietnam in an effort to punish Hanoi for its actions in Cambodia, and for its association with the Soviet Union. The war lasted a month, with Chinese forces leaving after heavy losses and without achie...

An estimated 1.5 million Vietnamese fled to the U.S. after the fall of Saigon in 1975, seeking a better life for their families. But as memories of the war fade and as business opportunities expand in the communist country, some children of those immigrants are moving back, drawn by Vietnam’s new economy and old culture. Special correspondent Mike Cerre reports.
www.stalker.vn - Natural Ground Roasted Coffee - Cà phê rang xay nguyên chất Vietnam's economic freedom score is 51, making its economy the 140th freest in the 2013 Index. Its score is 0.3 point worse than last year, with declines in monetary freedom, labor freedom, and trade freedom overshadowing improvements in control of government spending, business freedom, and freedom from corruption. Vietnam is ranked 30th out of 41 countries in the Asia--Pacific region, and its overall score is lower than the world and regional averages. The Vietnamese economy has weathered the global economic downturn relatively well. Capitalizing on its measured integration into the global trade and investment system, the country has slowly been transforming itself into a more market-oriented economy. Reforms i...

Vietnam is a country that has experienced explosive economic growth in recent years. Specializing in fine silver pieces, Blanc de Noir strives to create pieces of not only quality, but that of the utmost uniqueness by blending in old world historical charm with our modern growing times. Each piece, is a reflection of our passion to preserve this rare art form of handmade jewelry. A family owned business, the first few pieces were made over 30 years ago. It started out as a way to keep food on the table and help keep our family alive during rough struggling times. Only enough raw silver could be afforded each month to make a few pieces, and when the pieces were made and sold, our family would, in turn, buy more raw silver and repeat the process for the next decades to come. With the struggle to keep the art alive for several hard decades due to the high poverty in Laos an...
The 1970s, pronounced "the Nineteen Seventies", was the decade that started on January 1, 1970, and ended on December 31, 1979. This was the eighth decade of the 20th century. In the Western world, social progressive values that began in the 1960s, such as increasing political awareness and political and economic liberty of women, continued to grow. The hippie culture, which started in the latter half of the 1960s, waned by the early 1970s and faded towards the middle part of the decade, which involved opposition to the Vietnam War, opposition to nuclear weapons, the advocacy of world peace, and hostility to the authority of government and big business. The environmentalist movement began to increase dramatically in this period. In the United Kingdom with the 1979 elections resulted in t...

While taking a boat tour along the Mekong Delta, in the southern region of Vietnam, we were treated to some wonderful traditional Vietnamese singing and Vietnamese folk music during a live performance after sampling various kinds of tropical fruits and drinking hot Vietnamese herbal tea. Having the opportunity to listen to Vietnamese folk music was an experience we both will never forget. The fascinating traditional instruments native to Vietnam reminded us both of the kinds of traditional instruments we saw / heard in South Korea. Listening to the performance under shady refuge was the perfect remedy for the heat and humidity that had plagued our boat tour while out in the open sun for hours. Prior to visiting Vietnam my experience with Vietnamese cuisine was rather limited. Having only sampled Pho and Vietnamese spring rolls I visited foreign territory not really sure what to expect. Well, I was certainly in for a surprise - a pleasant one. Vietnamese cuisine is one of the strongest in Southeast Asia in terms of its regional diversity and range of ingredients used in dishes. PHO - the one that possibly will be the very first Vietnamese word that has seen internationalization. While the food is gaining a foothold on the appetite of many, simple "Vietnamese noodle" does not apply no more. It is now a unique delicacy that can only be described wholesomely in its original context. People talk about it and rave about its unique taste. They wonder about the best recipes. Some will travel to Vietnam for the first thing to do is to have a bowl of the local Pho, one that bears the authentic mark of its maker. Some will not go without a bowl once every week. Together with Vietnamonline, let's explore the Pho that has transformed more than one society! In 1945 Vietnam had 47 hospitals with a total of 3,000 beds, and it had just one physician for every 180,000 persons. Since the Vietnam War, health-care has come second to jump-starting the economy. Though it has vastly improved in the past few decades, the country still faces a long road ahead.
In rural northern Vietnam, community health clinics are making healthcare more accessible to local farmers and education is teaching people how their lifestyles can affect the chance of developing chronic illnesses such as diabetes and heart disease. Read more here: http://bit.ly/1iArzgF

This short video is based on Solidiance's latest white paper on the Emerging Opportunities in Vietnam’s Healthcare Landscape : Beyond Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City which analyses current trends in Vietnam's healthcare system and the opportunities being created for the private sector. Vietnam’s economic growth and demographic changes are driving demand for healthcare services - not only in Hanoi & Ho Chi Minh City, but also increasingly so in Tier 2 cities and provinces. Limitations in the public healthcare system - especially outside of Vietnam's two major cities - opens the door to private healthcare providers, as well as to medical device manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies. Each morning the dawn calm of Hoi An, Vietnam, disappears in a frenzy of activity. Whether it's conical hatted ladies conducting million-dong-deals or school girls in their perfect white Ao Dai uniforms commuting four-to-a-bicycle, Hoi An is a place full of life... That is, until about 9pm each day when the bustling streets empty and calm returns. Hoi An has effectively been preserved in time from it's days as one of South East Asia's busiest trading ports. I was privileged to call Hoi An my home for just over a year. As a visitor I will only ever understood a fraction of the activity that keeps the streets and waterways alive. I wanted to capture and share some of the sights that inspired me during my time in this historic town. Copyright © All Images Rob Whitworth 2012 http://www.robwh...

Diving in Nha Trang. Music by Max Richter. My family lives on traditions. Every Lunar New Year, we set out to watch the annual fest of cheesy fireworks before heading home for some whiskey kisses and cheers. Every summer, we skip away to some forsaken beaches and pretend the rest of the world's fading away into oblivion. The perks of living in Vietnam is that you can always find some beautiful places to escape to. Nature's pretty fucking awesome, as is the food. And as much as I despise it, there's something addictive in the raw intensity of the weather, like I'm proud to have survived it somehow. Sometimes I wish I'd been born in a different life, a different country, just so I can experience home from another vantage point. It saddens me that I've never actually felt particularly atta...
SOTT 'Earth Changes' video summary of extreme weather events and environmental indicators of 'planetary upheaval' (seismic, volcanic, etc) in July 2015. As the empire's noose around humanity's neck grows ever tighter, Nature responds to global suffering by alternately torching and drowning 'modern civilization'. July 2015 saw record-breaking heatwaves in western US, western Europe, and eastern Asia. Record numbers of wildfires breaking out across northern Canada and western US have forced the evacuation of thousands and torching millions of acres. In a scene one might expect in a Hollywood disaster movie, one wildfire outside Los Angeles crossed a highway and torched dozens of vehicles. In-between raging wildfires and epic drought, western US states saw record-breaking rainfall, with the ...
Hello, it's summer and another escape from urban life is what we all need!!! Binh Ba, a small island of the coastal central area of Vietnam, or in Cam Ranh, Khanh Hoa Province, Vietnam to be exact, is a new summer destination to anyone who wishes to explore nature and new experience. So we picked this island and planned the hell for it just a few days before our departure. And of course we did not care about the weather forecast, just "pack up and go" :)) Serve us right. The weather treated us with freaking cloudy and slight rain which looked too boring to be beautifully filmed as I had expected. Well, at least, fun is obviously what we earned from the trip.
Passing. Fleeting. Waiting. Watching. Living. Driving from Melbourne to Ballarat, Victoria, on a Saturday afternoon, the weather was cold, breezy and rainy. Pulling over every so often to grab a few shots. I sat on the side of the road, next to a patch of land that had been deforested. It looked like a bomb had exploded. It reminded me of photos I've seen from Vietnam veterans - showing fire support bases being cleared in the Phuoc Tuy province/South Vietnam during a wet season in the late 1960's. Daisy cutters flattening all but a few remaining stumps with small canopies. Looked really eerie in the misty rain. Taking in the atmosphere of the moment, it influenced the nature of my shoot. I reflected on how fleeting life is. Why we should value every moment. Even when sitting on the roa...
What an INCREDIBLE place! The locals, the travelers, the cuisine, the water, the weather, the conversation, the nature, the exploration, the freedom oh man!! It's times like these that make us remember why we strive to be alive. Big thanks to all the friends new and old that let me stick a camera in their face and support the art. A little something I made from our Hanoi/Halong Bay, Vietnam trip. Pictures/Albums are getting boring so we decided to film the trip. Though it was cloudy, rainy and foggy the entire trip coz of the cold weather, we still enjoyed every moment of the cruise. Hạ Long Bay was first listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.In 2009, the New 7 Wonders Foundation, which runs the New Seven Wonders of the World program, included Halong Bay on its list of nominations as one the World's New7Wonders of Nature. On November 11, 2011, the New 7 Wonders Foundation provisionally named Halong Bay as one of them. Made this short movie while waiting and on the plane trip back to Singapore. Filmed with a couple of Iphones and a Nikon P310. Stills with a SONY a550 Thanks to my cousins, Me-an and Leo Es...
SOTT 'Earth Changes' video summary (Part 2) of extreme weather events and environmental indicators of 'planetary upheaval' (seismic, volcanic, etc) in January 2016. With the pace of Earth Changes apparently quickening in 2016, we've decided to publish this second Summary video for the month of January. The flooding of the great Mississippi River Basin in early January - which followed record-breaking rainfall over the New Year - was unprecedented for wintertime. The only similar event was the Great Flood of 1937, but back then just one tributary - the Ohio River - flooded. Last month saw the Illinois, Ohio, Missouri, Arkansas and Meramec Rivers - and the Mississippi itself - all burst their banks, flooding parts of Illinois, Missouri, Kentucky, Arkansas and Tennessee. There are no record...
Paul concluded his doctrinal masterpiece to the Romans with this simple prayer, ”The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.” (Romans 16:24). To me, it states the obvious, that all the right doctrine in the world is worthless without the grace of Jesus Christ in our life. It also tells me that it is possible for Christians to miss out on the grace of Jesus Christ. Over the next few weeks we will be discovering what I believe is the missing ingredient in most Christians, and thus, most churches. That missing ingredient is “GraceLife”. Too many Christians are trying to live their lives just close enough to Jesus to be “alright”. If we could really understand “GraceLife”, we would see how those ‘followers’ of Jesus are missing out on what Jesus is all about. This writing wil...

My trip to Vietnam with family and friends, it was the one of the best experiences I can ever have. This was only the first two weeks I was there. I wish I filmed the whole month I was there, but I constantly forgot my camera at home :[ & the two little dogs names are Dirty and Clean :) (because ones is always clean and the other one always looks dirty haha)
Travel video about destination North Vietnam. In colonial times, the Europeans referred to North Vietnam as Tongking. Today, the Vietnamese people call it, Bac Bo.Hanoi is North Vietnam’s lively capital city. It was here that in 1882, the French created their administrative headquarters and main capital city. Compared to other southeast Asian cities that have developed into modern metropolises at breathtaking speed, Hanoi could be described as being a provincial city. The Hoh Chi Minh Museum, a three story concrete building, was inaugurated in May 1990 to commemorate Hoh’s 100th birthday.Den Dao Quan is one of the most beautiful Taoist temples in Vietnam and an oasis of tranquility. It is a place dedicated to the worship of benevolent spirits and for those who believe in divine and spiritua...
The runway rushed up at me, I felt the wheels touch down
Stood out on the blacktop, and took a taxi into town
Got off down on Main Street, to see what I recognized
All I seen was strange faces, watching a stranger passin' by
Vietnam, Vietnam, I don't man
Back in Vietnam
Went for my job back at the factory, down at the factory
The only thing I heard from the man at the desk
Is, "Son, understand if it was up to me"
'bout half the town's out of work
Ain't nothin' for you here
From the assembly line to the front-line
But I guess you didn't hear"
You died in Vietnam, you died in Vietnam
Now don't you understand, you died in Vietnam
Drive down my neighborhood
See the flags out on the porch
So I went to see my old baby
Down at First and Grand
Her mama told me she ran off
With a singer in a rock 'n' roll band
????
I can see me passin' by
You died in Vietnam, you died in Vietnam
Boy, don't you understand, you died in Vietnam
The runway rushed up at me, I felt the wheels hit down
I stood out on the blacktop, and took a taxi into town
Got off down on Main Street, to see what I could see
All I seen was strangers, watchin' a stranger pass by
And that stranger was me
Vietnam, Vietnam, oh-no man
Vietnam
Went to see my baby, down on First and Grand
To tell her I'd come home from away in Vietnam
Her mama came to the door and told me
Her mama told me she ran away
With a singer in a rock 'n' roll band
She said, "I'm sorry son, but we understand"
You died in Vietnam, you died in Vietnam
