This educational video depicts the United States Rockwell B-1 Lancer, a four-engine supersonic variable-sweep wing, jet-powered heavy strategic aircraft used by the USAF. It was first envisioned in the 1960s as a supersonic aircraft with Mach 2 speed, and sufficient range and payload to replace the Boeing B-52 Stratofortress. It was developed into the B-1B, primarily a low-level penetration aircraft with long range and Mach 1.25 speed capability at high altitude. It is commonly called the "Bone" (originally from "B-One").
Designed by Rockwell International (now part of Boeing), development was delayed multiple times over its history. The initial B-1A version was developed in the early 1970s, but its production was canceled, and only four prototypes were built. The need for a new platform once again surfaced in the early 1980s, and the aircraft resurfaced as the B-1B version with the focus on low-level penetration actions. However, by this point, development of stealth technology was promising an aircraft of dramatically improved capability. Production went ahead as the B version would be operational before the "Advanced Technology" (which became the B-2 Spirit), during a period when the B-52 would be increasingly vulnerable. The B-1B entered service in 1986 with the USAF Strategic Air Command (SAC) as a normal strategic aircraft.
In the early 1990s it first served during Operation Desert Fox in 1998 and again during the NATO action in Kosovo the following year. The B-1B has supported U.S. and NATO forces and is expected to continue to serve into the 2030's.

Air force
An air force, also known in some countries as an air army, is in the broadest sense, the national military organization that primarily conducts aerial warfare. More specifically, it is the branch of a nation's armed services that is responsible for aerial warfare as distinct from an army, navy, or a marine corps. Typically, air forces are responsible for gaining control of the air, carrying out strategic and tactical bombing missions, and providing support to land and naval forces.
The term "air force" may also refer to a tactical air force or numbered air force, which is an operational formation either within a national air force or comprising several air components from allied nations. Air forces typically consist of a combination of fighters, bombers, helicopters, transport planes and other aircraft.
Many air forces are also responsible for operations of the military space, intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM), and communications equipment. Some air forces may command and control other air defence assets such as anti-aircraft artillery, surface-to-air missiles, or anti-ballistic missile warning networks and defensive systems. Some nations, principally Russia, the former Soviet Union and countries who modelled their militaries along Soviet lines, have an air defence force which is organizationally separate from their air force.

This educational video depicts the United States Rockwell B-1 Lancer, a four-engine supersonic variable-sweep wing, jet-powered heavy strategic aircraft used by the USAF. It was first envisioned in the 1960s as a supersonic aircraft with Mach 2 speed, and sufficient range and payload to replace the Boeing B-52 Stratofortress. It was developed into the B-1B, primarily a low-level penetration aircraft with long range and Mach 1.25 speed capability at high altitude. It is commonly called the "Bone" (originally from "B-One"). US Airforce powerful, battle-tested B-1 Lancer bombers in action over South Korea as response to North Koreas recent possibly most powerful nuclear weapons test.
The B-1s were joined by US F-16 and South Korean F-15 fighters in the low-level flyover of Osan Air Base, 40 miles (64 kilometers) south of the South Korean capital of Seoul.
The strategic display of air power sends a powerfull message to North Korea.
Video shows US B-1 bombers fly with Republic of Korea F-15K Slam Eagle and U.S. F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter aircraft in the vicinity of Osan Air Base and nice shots of B-1 Lancer bombers low pass fly overs, B-1 bomber take offs and landings and aswell taxiing of the powerfull B-1.

This educational video depicts the United States Rockwell B-1 Lancer, a four-engine supersonic variable-sweep wing, jet-powered heavy strategic aircraft used by the USAF. It was first envisioned in the 1960s as a supersonic aircraft with Mach 2 speed, and sufficient range and payload to replace the Boeing B-52 Stratofortress. It was developed into the B-1B, primarily a low-level penetration aircraft with long range and Mach 1.25 speed capability at high altitude. It is commonly called the "Bone" (originally from "B-One").
Designed by Rockwell International (now part of Boeing), development was delayed multiple times over its history. The initial B-1A version was developed in the early 1970s, but its production was canceled, and only four prototypes were built. The need for a new platform once again surfaced in the early 1980s, and the aircraft resurfaced as the B-1B version with the focus on low-level penetration actions. However, by this point, development of stealth technology was promising an aircraft of dramatically improved capability. Production went ahead as the B version would be operational before the "Advanced Technology" (which became the B-2 Spirit), during a period when the B-52 would be increasingly vulnerable. The B-1B entered service in 1986 with the USAF Strategic Air Command (SAC) as a normal strategic aircraft.
In the early 1990s it first served during Operation Desert Fox in 1998 and again during the NATO action in Kosovo the following year. The B-1B has supported U.S. and NATO forces and is expected to continue to serve into the 2030's.
PERFORMANCE:
Maximum speed: Mach 1.25 (721 kn or 830 mph or 1,335 km/h)
Range: 5,100 nmi (5,900 mi; 9,400 km)
Radius: 2,993 nmi (3,444 mi; 5,543 km)
Service ceiling: 60,000 ft (18,000 m)
Wing loading: 167 lb/ft² (816 kg/m²)
Thrust/weight: 0.38
