Daniel Robert Elfman (born May 29, 1953) is an American composer, singer, songwriter, and record producer. From 1976 to 1995 he was the lead singer and songwriter for the rock band Oingo Boingo.
In 1976 Elfman entered the film industry as an actor. In 1982 he scored his first film, Forbidden Zone, directed by his older brother Richard Elfman. Among his honors are four Academy Award nominations, a Grammy for Batman, an Emmy for Desperate Housewives, the 2002 Richard Kirk Award, and the Disney Legend Award.
Danny Elfman was born in Los Angeles, California, into a Jewish family. He is the son of Blossom Elfman (née Bernstein), a writer and teacher, and Milton Elfman, a teacher who was in the Air Force. He was raised in a racially mixed community in the Baldwin Hills area of Los Angeles. He spent much of his time in the local movie theatre, adoring the music of such film composers as Bernard Herrmann and Franz Waxman. Stating that he hung out with the "band geeks" in high school, he started a ska band. After dropping out of high school, he followed his brother Richard to France, where he performed with Le Grand Magic Circus, an avant-garde musical theater group. Violin in tow, Elfman next journeyed to Africa where he traveled through Ghana, Mali, and Upper Volta, absorbing new musical styles, including the Ghanaian highlife genre which would eventually influence his own music.

"Because everyone in the film grew up, I thought maybe the music should," John Powell said of his experience during his creation of the score of "How to Train Your Dragon 2." "Films are like icebergs, you have them at a certain point where they all look like they're all in a row but then they all start to move and they start to flow," Danny Elfman, composer of "Big Eyes" shares about his experience creating the score for the motion picture. "There wasn't a lot of room for misdirection and it just added a level of tension that I can hear in the musi...

So-Lo is the fourth album by Oingo Boingo and was released On November 11,1984. It was released under lead singer Danny Elfman's name. Following the release of Oingo Boingo's 1983 album Good For Your Soul, the album was deliberately released under Elfman's name instead of Oingo Boingo's in order to circumvent a dispute with the band's record label. Elfman stated that he used the opportunity to record previously written material, moving away from the band's ska origins and more towards mainstream synthpop. He described it as "a chance to experiment with slower tempos". It was the band's final album recorded with bass player Kerry Hatch and keyboardist Richard Gibbs. Track Listing: 1. Gratitude 2. Cool City 3. Go Away 4. Sucker For Mystery 5. It Only Makes Me Laugh 6. Last Time 7. Tough As...

This is a walk-through video of my Mock-Up to Danny Elfman's peice, Etiquette, from the Edward Scissorhands OST.
[JACK]
There were object so peculiar
They were not to be believed
All around, things to tantalize my brain
It's a world unlike anything I've ever seen
And as hard as I try
I can't seem to describe
Like a most improbable dream
But you must believe when I tell you this
It's as real as my skull and it does exist
Here, let me show you
This is a thing called a present
The whole thing starts with a box
[DEVIL]
A box?
Is it steel?
[WEREWOLF]
Are there locks?
[HARLEQUIN DEMON]
Is it filled with a pox?
[DEVIL, WEREWOLF, HARLEQUIN DEMON]
A pox
How delightful, a pox
[JACK]
If you pleae
Just a box with bright-colored paper
And the whole thing's topped with a bow
[WITCHES]
A bow?
But why?
How ugly
What's in it?
What's in it?
[JACK]
That's the point of the thing, not to know
[CLOWN]
It's a bat
[CREATURE UNDER THE STAIRS]
Will it bend?
[CLOWN]
It's a rat
[CREATURE UNDER THE STAIRS]
Will it break?
[UNDERSEA GAL]
Perhaps it's the head that I found in the lake
[JACK]
Listen now, you don't understand
That's not the point of Christmas land
Now, pay attention
Now we pick up an over-sized sock
And hang it like this on the wall
[MR. HYDE]
Oh, yes! Does it still have a foot?
[MEDIUM MR. HYDE]
Let me see, let me look
[SMALL MR. HYDE]
Is it rotted and covered with gook?
[JACK]
Hmm, let me explain
There's no foot inside, but there's candy
Or sometimes it's filled with small toys
[MUMMY AND WINGED DEMON]
Small toys
[WINGED DEMON]
Do they bite?
[MUMMY]
Do they snap?
[WINGED DEMON]
Or explode in a sack?
[CORPSE KID]
Or perhaps they just spring out
And scare girls and boys
[MAYOR]
What a splendid idea
This Christmas sounds fun
Why, I fully endorse it
Let's try it at once
[JACK]
Everyone, please now, not so fast
There's sometihng here that you don't quite grasp
Well, I may as well give them what they want
And the best, I must confess, I have saved for the last
For the ruler of this Christmas land
Is a fearsome King with a deep mighty voice
Least that's what I've come to understand
And I've also heard it told
That's he's something to behold
Like a lobster, huge and red
And sets out to slay with his rain gear on
Carting bulging sacks with his big great arms
That is, so I've heard it said
And on a darkm cold night
Under full moonlight
He flies into a fog
Like a vulture in the sky
And they call him Sandy Claws
Well, at least they're excited
Though they don't understand
That special lind of feeling in Christmas land
