The LGBT community or GLBT community, commonly referred to as the gay community, is a loosely defined grouping of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) and LGBT-supportive people, organizations, and subcultures, united by a common culture and social movements. These communities generally celebrate pride, diversity, individuality, and sexuality. LGBT activists and sociologists see LGBT community-building as a counterbalance to heterosexism, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, sexualism, and conformist pressures that exist in the larger society. The term gay pride is used to express the LGBT community's identity and collective strength; gay pride parades provide both a prime example of the use and a demonstration of the general meaning of the term. The LGBT community is diverse in political affiliation. Not all LGBT individuals consider themselves part of an LGBT community.
Groups that may be considered part of the LGBT community include gay villages, LGBT rights organizations, LGBT employee groups at companies, LGBT student groups in schools and universities, and LGBT-affirming religious groups.
LGBT or GLBT is an initialism that stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender. In use since the 1990s, the term is an adaptation of the initialism LGB, which was used to replace the term gay in reference to the LGBT community beginning in the mid-to-late 1980s. Activists believed that the term gay community did not accurately represent all those to whom it referred.
The initialism has become mainstream as a self-designation; it has been adopted by the majority of sexuality and gender identity-based community centers and media in the United States, as well as some other English-speaking countries. The term is used also in some other countries, particularly those which languages use the initialism, such as Argentina, France and Turkey.
The initialism LGBT is intended to emphasize a diversity of sexuality and gender identity-based cultures. It may be used to refer to anyone who is non-heterosexual or non-cisgender, instead of exclusively to people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender. To recognize this inclusion, a popular variant adds the letter Q for those who identify as queer or are questioning their sexual identity; LGBTQ has been recorded since 1996. Those who wish to include intersex people in LGBT groups suggest an extended initialism LGBTI. This initialism is used in all parts of "The Activist's Guide" of the Yogyakarta Principles in Action. Some people combine the two acronyms and use the term LGBTIQ.

In the recently held Delhi Gay Pride parade, on 30th November, revelers and participants were seen singing, dancing, and cheering for the rights of the LGBT community. This was the first parade after the Supereme Court reinstated the ban on gay sex in India. Amongst all the revelry, we went out to ask participants the silly questions they are often asked regarding their sexual orientation and how they can un-gay themselves. The video was produced by Desi Dime, an online shopping community, and Youtube channel, Sortedd.

The more accepting we are of the way people are born, the less violence we see inflicted upon them. The less suicides and suffering they endure. Intolerance of gay people and the LGBT community in general is something we should all stand against for the sake of people feeling safe to come out an be honest with everyone about who they are and the life they want to live. Not all forms of attraction are acceptable due to the fact that certain forms hurt one of the parties involved, but consensual homosexuality, consensual lesbianism and bisexuality doesn't hurt anyone. Because no one is hurt, there is no reason to be intolerant. Promote love, support happy marriages, that's what good people do. Based on a documentary theater piece, DYLAN truly rides the line of documentary and narrative genres. Performed with incredible honesty and dramatic skill, Becca Blackwell unforgettably portrays a young man exploring his identity as he finds himself immersed in a new community. DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT: I began the process of making this film nearly ten years ago when I wrote the script as part of a writer's workshop taught by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen (The Exonerated). The workshop was specifically focused on documentary theater writing, which was a format I knew very little about but immediately fell in love with. We were tasked to interview someone whose story seemed interesting, and through a very detailed and specific method would eventually edit these interviews into a documentary...
This is a project our class did for the nonprofit Hidden Voices that they will essentially be able to use as they please. In any case it's more or less a PSA for homelessness in the lesbian gay bi and transgender community. An issue that's probably more of an issue than you thought. It certainly was for me.
Just me talking about how it doesn't seem the LGBT community/movement thinks outside the box anymore.
Rosaria Butterfield shares some of the things Christians just don't understand about those in the LGBT community.

More than one-third of transgender inmates in US jails and prisons report sexual assault. When the San Francisco sheriff announced a plan to implement changes for transgender people in the county jail, film-maker Nick Leader went out to meet the inmates who would benefit. What he found was a strong community of people, struggling with their place in society both on the street and in the justice system, with only each other to lean on

No doubt that LGBT community has been long discriminated, and gays suffer more from discrimination than lesbians do. I've watched some Playboy models' interview; there is two common questions:1: Have you ever kiss a girl? I don't recall any model denied; 2: How's that feel? "It's awesome, I like it." I haven't watched any gay magazine models' interview. but I don't think they would ask these questions because most people think that girls kiss each other is sweet, while guy's kissing make their stomach turn. What's the first image come up to our mind when we heard words "comics, animates, cartoons?" "Cuteness, lovely, kids, adorable, funny..." all kinds of positive image. So, even though the LGBT themes in comics and animations seems a bit weird to some people, they usually don't have a st...
