Speed-the-Plow (1988) is a play by David Mamet which is a satirical dissection of the American movie business, a theme Mamet would revisit in his later films Wag the Dog (1997) and State and Main (2000).
Jack Kroll of Newsweek described Speed-the-Plow as "another tone poem by our nation's foremost master of the language of moral epilepsy."
The play sets its context with an epigram (not to be recited in performance) by William Makepeace Thackeray, from his novel Pendennis, contained in a frontispiece: It starts: "Which is the most reasonable, and does his duty best: he who stands aloof from the struggle of life, calmly contemplating it, or he who descends to the ground, and takes his part in the contest?" The character of Bobby Gould finds himself on both sides of this dilemma, and at times in the play he "stands aloof," and at other times he "takes part" in life's contest, with its moral strictures.
The play begins in the office of Bobby Gould, who has recently been promoted to head of production at a major Hollywood studio. His job is to find suitable scripts to bring to studio head Richard Ross to be made into big Hollywood movies. His longtime associate, Charlie Fox, has arrived with important news: movie star Doug Brown came to his house that morning interested in making a movie Fox had sent his way some time ago. Gould instantly knows to arrange a meeting with the studio head, wanting to deliver the news personally that such a big star who usually works with a different studio is keen to make a movie with them, which is sure to be a financial success.
Summer's Blood (also known as Summer and Summer's Moon) is a Canadian horror film starring Ashley Greene. It was released directly to DVD on November 10, 2009.
The movie start with an unknown man narrating the scene over a dead female body.
The next scene, the audience meet Summer (Ashley Greene). Summer's hitchhiking along the side of the road when a man pulls over. He asks her where she's going, and she tells him; he says he's going through that town and that it was no trouble. Maybe, for this favor, she would do a favor for him. He expects Summer to pay him with giving him oral sex. Summer pulls out a gun and tells the driver to keep his eyes on the road.
When the scene ends, Summer is next scene in a gas station. Summer shoplifts food and accessories at a store in a small town. The sheriff (Paul Whitney) watches Summer from the distance. He approaches Summer, informing her that "people around here pay for their items." Summer throws down a rack of store goods. She runs away. The sheriff falls over the rack.

Plosive Production's Speed the Plow is a play about making movies. Rather, it's a play about the war between business and art in Hollywood. Bobby Gould has just made the ranks of big time Hollywood movie producer, and before the paint in his office is even dry he's faced with the choice of greenlighting one of two films. A guaranteed commercial hit brought to him by long time friend and colleague, Charlie Fox, that will mean a lot of money and power for both of them. Or a depressing art house film that would flop and completely ruin his career but is the kind of art that matters. Written by renowned...

My neighbor, Carl, he lives next door
Pink flamingos on his porch
At night he teaches driving school
And he sits out by his plastic pool
He takes off his shirt, he opens up a cold one
Old Carl’s bein’ a fool
But it takes one to know one
Chorus:
Music’s playin’ up and down the block
Mostly Christian, Blues, Country, Folk, and Southern Rock
It’s our little piece of paradise way out here in the woods
There is always somethin’ goin’ on down in the trailerhood
Across the street there’s Gamblin’ Jane
Always got the poker game
If you care to try your luck
You can buy a seat for fifteen bucks
You can call the raise, or you can check and fold
Oh, I like Five Card Stud but it’s mostly Texas Hold Em’
Repeat Chorus
New tattoos and farmer tans, rodeo, and Nascar fans
Dallas Cowboy football on TV
When the storm starts gettin’ bad
You hear those sirens hummin’
Grab a six-pack and a lawn chair
There’s a tornado comin’
Bridge (Alright)
Repeat Chorus
I got'er made in the shade
With a moonshine lemonade
There’s always a party goin’ on down in the trailerhood
