An episcopal see is, in the usual meaning of the phrase, the area of a bishop's ecclesiastical jurisdiction.
Phrases concerning actions occurring within or outside an episcopal see are indicative of the geographical significance of the term, making it synonymous with "diocese".
The word "see" is derived from Latin sedes, which in its original or proper sense denotes the seat or chair that, in the case of a bishop, is the earliest symbol of the bishop's authority. This symbolic chair is also known as the bishop's cathedra, and is placed in the diocese principal church, which for that reason is called the bishop's cathedral, from Latin ecclesia cathedralis, meaning the church of the cathedra. The word "throne" is also used, especially in the Eastern Orthodox Church, both for the seat and for the area of ecclesiastical jurisdiction.

The episcopal see of Carthage, the city restored to importance by Julius Caesar and Augustus, in which Christianity was firmly established by the 2nd century, was the most important in the whole of Roman Africa and continued as a residential see even after it had fallen to the Muslim conquest, until the start of the second millennium.

Places to see in ( Tulle - France )
Tulle is a commune and capital of the Corrèze département in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region in central France. It is also the episcopal see of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tulle.
Tulle is the third-largest town in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, after Limoges and Brive-la-Gaillarde. Known sometimes as "the town on the seven hills", Tulle rose to prominence through the development of its manufacturing sector.
Tulle's role as a centre for lace making is highlighted by an "international lace festival" held each August. The town is also home to the Maugein accordion factory, which once employed 200, though this figure is now much reduced. Near to this there was, till recently, a significant armaments manufacturing business, but its site is now (2011) marked only by an armaments museum.

Szombathely Ger. Steinamanger, city (1991 est. pop. 85,700), W Hungary, near the Austrian border. An important railway junction, it produces leather goods, agricultural machinery, textiles, and shoes and is also a market for local farm products. Szombathely has been an episcopal see since the 17th cent. and has a women's college. The city was founded in A.D. 48 by the Roman emperor Claudius and called Sabaria. Septimius Severus was proclaimed (193) emperor there, and St. Martin of Tours was born (c.316) in the city. Szombathely was destroyed (5th cent.) by the Huns but was rebuilt. The city has an 18th-century cathedral, a 17th-century Dominican church, and an episcopal palace with a museum of antiquities. he Lund Cathedral (Swedish: Lunds domkyrka), built as Catholic (arch)episcopal see of the Diocese of Lund (first a suffragan of Bremen in Germany, soon Metropolitan for much of Scandinavia), dedicated to the Martyr Saint Lawrence, is since the Swedish Reformation the Lutheran cathedral in Lund, Scania, Sweden. It is the seat of the bishop of Lund of the Church of Sweden
The crypt[edit]
The crypt has remained largely untouched since its consecration in 1123. The crypt is identified by its numerous and densely built pillars. The pillars are very different in style and were built by the architect Donatus. The most famous pillar is the one with the statue of a man embracing it. Local legend tells that the figure is Finn the Giant, builder of the cathedral. Another column has a similar sculpture of a woman, the wife of Finn according to legend. It is not known who the man on the column actually represents, but it could be the Biblical character Samson.
The crypt's main altar is the oldest altar in the church and was consecrated on 30 June 1123 by archbishop Asser. The crypt contain many sarcophagi, chests and grave slabs. Among its most important works of art are the relief-decorated well and the tomb of archbishop Birger Gunnersen, created by Adam van Düren in the 1510s.
According to legend, the crypt may be the final resting place of the great hero Fionn mac Cumhaill, about whom legends abound in Irish and Scottish mythology.[citation needed]
Anders Sunesen is also buried in the cathedral.

Đàm Vĩnh Hưng (born October 2, 1971), often referred to by his nickname, Mr. Dam (also spelled Mr. Đàm), is a Vietnamese pop star.
He has become very popular in Vietnam beginning with his first career solo “Tình Ơi Xin Ngủ Yên”. His second album, "Binh Minh Se Mang Em Di," boosted him into the A-list singers in Vietnam receiving much commercial and critical success. Following that, his first official liveshow "Trai Tim Hat" was held in 2013, directed by the most famous director at that time, Huynh Phuc Dien. The success of his albums as well as his live concerts had led him into many awards; he was named one of top 10 singers of the year by Lan Song Xanh from that on and especially the award of "Best Male Artist of the year" of Ngoi Sao Bach Kim was given as a proof of his effort.
However, his career life was truly brightened when his 5th album-Giot Nuoc Mat Cho Doi was given out, followed by his second liveshow "Gio H". On the other hand, Vol 8 "Tinh Ca 50" releasing in 2006 briging him a lot of troubles from the song of the same name. There was also a rumour of the love affair between Hung and one of the very famous Vietnamese female singer - My Tam at that time when Hung continuously confessed about his admiration for Tam.

An important railway junction, it produces leather goods, agricultural machinery, textiles, and shoes and is also a market for local farm products. Szombathely has been an episcopal see since the 17th cent. and has a women's college. The city was founded in A.D. 48 by the Roman emperor Claudius and called Sabaria. Septimius Severus was proclaimed (193) emperor there, and St. Martin of Tours was born (c.316) in the city. Szombathely was destroyed (5th cent.) by the Huns but was rebuilt. The city has an 18th-century cathedral, a 17th-century Dominican church, and an episcopal palace with a museum of antiquities. Ruins of a triumphal arch, an amphitheater, and an aqueduct have been excavated nearby.

he Lund Cathedral (Swedish: Lunds domkyrka), built as Catholic (arch)episcopal see of the Diocese of Lund (first a suffragan of Bremen in Germany, soon Metropolitan for much of Scandinavia), dedicated to the Martyr Saint Lawrence, is since the Swedish Reformation the Lutheran cathedral in Lund, Scania, Sweden. It is the seat of the bishop of Lund of the Church of Sweden
The crypt[edit]
The crypt has remained largely untouched since its consecration in 1123. The crypt is identified by its numerous and densely built pillars. The pillars are very different in style and were built by the architect Donatus. The most famous pillar is the one with the statue of a man embracing it. Local legend tells that the figure is Finn the Giant, builder of the cathedral. Another column has a similar sculpture of a woman, the wife of Finn according to legend. It is not known who the man on the column actually represents, but it could be the Biblical character Samson.
The crypt's main altar is the oldest altar in the church and was consecrated on 30 June 1123 by archbishop Asser. The crypt contain many sarcophagi, chests and grave slabs. Among its most important works of art are the relief-decorated well and the tomb of archbishop Birger Gunnersen, created by Adam van Düren in the 1510s.
According to legend, the crypt may be the final resting place of the great hero Fionn mac Cumhaill, about whom legends abound in Irish and Scottish mythology.[citation needed]
Anders Sunesen is also buried in the cathedral.
