Radio is the use of radio waves is to carry information, such as sound, by systematically modulating some property of electromagnetic energy waves transmitted through space, such as their amplitude, frequency, phase, or pulse width. When radio waves strike an electrical conductor, the oscillating fields induce an alternating current in the conductor. The information in the waves can be extracted and transformed back into its original form.
Radio systems need a transmitter to modulate (change) some property of the energy produced to impress a signal on it, for example using amplitude modulation or angle modulation (which can be frequency modulation or phase modulation). Radio systems also need an antenna to convert electric currents into radio waves, and vice versa. An antenna can be used for both transmitting and receiving. The electrical resonance of tuned circuits in radios allow individual stations to be selected. The electromagnetic wave is intercepted by a tuned receiving antenna. A radio receiver receives its input from an antenna and converts it into a form usable for the consumer, such as sound, pictures, digital data, measurement values, navigational positions, etc. Radio frequencies occupy the range from a 3 kHz to 300 GHz, although commercially important uses of radio use only a small part of this spectrum.
Austin (i/ˈɒstɪn, ˈɔː-/) is the capital of the US state of Texas and the seat of Travis County. Located in Central Texas, Austin is the 11th-most populous city in the United States and the fourth-most populous city in Texas. It is the fastest growing of the largest 50 US cities. Austin is also the second largest state capital in the United States, after Phoenix, Arizona. As of July 1, 2014, Austin had a population of 912,791 (U.S. Census Bureau estimate). The city is the cultural and economic center of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan area, which had an estimated population of 1,943,299 as of July 1, 2014.
In the 1830s, pioneers began to settle the area in central Austin along the Colorado River. After Republic of Texas Vice President Mirabeau B. Lamar visited the area during a buffalo-hunting expedition between 1837 and 1838, he proposed that the republic's capital, then located in Houston, be relocated to the area situated on the north bank of the Colorado River near the present-day Congress Avenue Bridge. In 1839, the site was officially chosen as the republic's new capital (the republic's seventh and final location) and was incorporated under the name Waterloo. Shortly thereafter, the name was changed to Austin in honor of Stephen F. Austin, the "Father of Texas" and the republic's first secretary of state.
Austin & Ally is an American teen sitcom that originally aired on Disney Channel from December 2, 2011 to January 10, 2016. The series was created by Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert, the writers and producers of the Disney Channel sitcoms Sonny with a Chance and Jonas.
Set in Miami, Austin & Ally is a multi-camera comedy about the relationship between two very different musicians: extroverted singer and instrumentalist Austin Moon (Ross Lynch), who is fun-loving and outgoing, and introverted and awkward songwriter Ally Dawson (Laura Marano), who is a singer, but has a bad case of stage fright.
In the pilot, "Rockers & Writers", Austin secretly records one of Ally's songs without her knowing. He becomes famous from it after his best friend Dez (Calum Worthy) directs Austin in a music video for the song and posts it on the Internet. Once Ally, convinced by her best friend Trish (Raini Rodriguez), takes credit for her song, Austin convinces her to become his partner. The two agree to work together and become close friends, while struggling to keep Austin's new-found fame and profit from it. Trish pitches in as Austin's manager and Dez continues to direct Austin's music videos. The group has many adventures while in Austin's music career. At the end of the first season, Austin gets signed to Jimmy Starr's record label.
Ross Shor Lynch (born December 29, 1995) is an American singer, songwriter, actor, and musician. He is one of the founding members of the pop rock band R5. As an actor, he is known for his debut role as Austin Moon on the Disney Channel original series Austin & Ally, and for his role as Brady in Disney Channel's Teen Beach Movie series.
Lynch was born and raised in Littleton, Colorado, the second youngest of five siblings (sister Rydel and brothers Riker, Rocky, and Ryland). He was educated at home from the fourth grade. He learned to sing and play the guitar and piano. He is also a second cousin of entertainers Derek and Julianne Hough. Lynch and his family moved to Los Angeles, California in 2007.
Lynch can play the piano, drums, and bass; he specializes in guitar. He has danced for the Rage Boyz Crew, a group founded by a dance company in Southern California. He has been on So You Think You Can Dance and has had guest appearances on shows like Moises Rules!, and can even be seen in movies such as Grapple, with Anton Troy. In 2009, Lynch was in Kidz Bop, and appeared in at least one Kidz Bop video. He has also been seen in Cymphonique's music video "Lil' Miss Swagger". Lynch was cast in early 2011 to appear in the pilot for the Disney Channel television program entitled Austin & Ally, playing the lead male role of Austin Moon, a teenage singer who becomes an overnight sensation after a music video featuring a performance by him is uploaded to the internet and later forms a partnership with Ally, played by Laura Marano. The pilot was later picked up for a full season's production; the show debuted in December 2011, and was renewed for a second season in March 2012. In 2013 the third season was shot and in 2015 the fourth and final season is being displayed on TV.
"The Radio" is a song by Italian electronica/dance DJ Mario Fargetta under the guise of Get Far, with vocals by British singer/rapper H-Boogie. The single was released in May 2010 and reached number one on the Billboard Hot Dance Airplay chart in August 2010. It also reached number one in the Czech Republic and peaked at number 4 in Slovakia. The song borrows quotes from "Il Giocatore Di Biliardo" by Branduardi.

Thanks to Ryan Schuh in Austin for this classic audio. Stations include the legendary B93 FM, K98 KHFI, KQFX, KWTX 97.5 and K96.7 KHFI. B93 was one of the best and most powerful stations I ever heard. On a good day/night, it would cover a 300+ mile radius throughout the great state of Texas. It was my teenage dream to work there but I lived in DFW and the station was already gone before I moved to Austin to begin my career... @ 6:40 the song is "I'm Losing You" by Uptown which was a rare regional hit, originating at the 80's Starck club in Dallas. It was on the Oak Lawn Records label.

This series is documenting my helicopter training in the Robinson R-22 Beta II. My name is Ian, and I invite you to follow along as I go from zero flight experience to my goal of becoming a certified flight instructor. On this flight, I decided to go up and fly solo since it had been a while since I flew by myself. I had a little radio issues near Austin, but it ended up not being that big of a deal and I went ahead and flew towards the lake as I had planned. This video is not intended to be a substitute for instruction with a Certified Flight Instructor. Twitter: https://twitter.com/critangle Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/criticalagl

On November 5th, 2000, the day before polls closed in the presidential "election", the unlicensed Free Radio Austin was raided by Governor George W Bush. If this had not happened, listeners would have learned about mile-long "safety checkpoints" on roads leading from black (democrat) neighborhoods to polling (voting) places, because Bush was a favorite topic of the radio station at that time. The transmitter was encased in an aluminum pressure cooker, which had been buried six feet underground behind the studio. It took FCC agent Loyd Perry three hours to dig up the transmitter, in soil which had been used as the station bathroom for over a year. This video was taken by Roger Baker, who had been arrested while protesting in front of the governor's mansion on direct orders of George W B...
