Case Studies in Native Title Corporate Histories is part of a larger NTRU research project investigating corporate design for native title groups.

The project will contribute to broader goals of the Corporate Design Project by providing insights into the corporate relationships and experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders throughout the full life-cycle of their native title claims, from point of claim to determination through to the establishment and running of their Registered Native Title Bodies Corporate (RNTBCs). The research project will explore the evolution of groups’ representative structures and corporations and how these have shaped their relationships with external stakeholders as well as their own members.

The focus of the project to date has been a case study of the Nyangumarta Warrarn Aboriginal Corporation. This case study involved the review of 15 years’ worth of relevant files and documents currently held by Yamatji Marlpa Aboriginal Corporation.
