San Francisco (/sæn frənˈsɪskoʊ/), officially the City and County of San Francisco, is the cultural, commercial, and financial center of Northern California and the only consolidated city-county in California. San Francisco encompasses a land area of about 46.9 square miles (121 km2) on the northern end of the San Francisco Peninsula, which makes it the smallest county in the state. It has a density of about 18,187 people per square mile (7,022 people per km2), making it the most densely settled large city (population greater than 200,000) in the state of California and the second-most densely populated major city in the United States after New York City. San Francisco is the fourth-most populous city in California, after Los Angeles, San Diego and San Jose, and the 13th-most populous city in the United States—with a Census-estimated 2014 population of 852,469. The city and its surrounding areas are known as the San Francisco Bay Area, and are a part of the larger OMB designated San Jose-San Francisco-Oakland combined statistical area, the fifth most populous in the nation with an estimated population of 8.6 million.

Francisco is the Spanish and Portuguese form of the masculine given name Franciscus (corresponding to English Francis).
In Spanish, people with the name Francisco sometimes are nicknamed "Paco": San Francisco de Asís was known as Pater Comunitatis (The Community father) when he founded the Franciscan order, "Paco" is a short form of "Pater Comunitatis". Also, in Spanish Latin America and in the Philippines, people with the name Francisco are called "Pancho". "Kiko" is also used as a nickname in the Philippines.
In Portuguese, people named Francisco are commonly nicknamed "Chico" (shíco) or "Kiko". This is also a less-common nickname for Francisco in Spanish too.
Need for Speed, also known by its initials NFS, is a racing video game franchise published by Electronic Arts and developed by several studios including EA Black Box, Criterion Games and Ghost Games.
The series released its first title, The Need for Speed in 1994. The title comes from a famous quote from the 1986 film Top Gun. All installments of the series consist of racing cars on various tracks, with several titles including police pursuits in races. Since Need for Speed: High Stakes, the series has also integrated car body customization into gameplay.
Need for Speed is the most successful racing video game series in the world, and one of the most successful video game franchises of all time. Over 150 million copies of games in the series have been sold to date.
In June 2012, following Black Box's restructuring, British developer Criterion Games announced that it was in full control of the Need for Speed franchise. However, in August 2013, Swedish and British developers Ghost Games, Ghost Games UK and Criterion Games joined forces for the foreseeable future of the Need for Speed series. At the time, Ghost Games UK staff consisted of 80% of former Criterion Games employees.

Find things to do, places to eat, attractions and history at the Embarcadero, part of San Francisco's Waterfront. The San Francisco Bay's waterfront district is an essential destination, also known as the Embarcadero. Just north of the Bay Bridge, you'll find the Ferry Building at Pier 1. It was once a primary entry and exit point for shipping and fortune seekers during the Gold Rush. Today it serves as not only a transportation hub, but an epicurean marketplace, with a farmers market three days a week. A brisk walk further north up the Embarcadero lands you at Pier 15, home to the new Exploratorium interactive, all-ages science museum. And right next door to that is a chocolate lovers dream, TCHO. This chocolate factory offers free tours and it's a great way to learn about the history ...
Embarcadero is a BART and Muni Metro station in the Financial District of San Francisco. The easternmost stop on the Market Street Subway, Embarcadero acts as a major hub for passenger movement throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. With 45,460 exits each weekday in 2015, Embarcadero is the busiest station in the BART system, a title for which it vies with its western neighbor, Montgomery Street. It is the first stop in San Francisco for BART trains after crossing through the Transbay Tube from West Oakland. This station was an infill station, opening in May 1976, three years after the rest of this section of BART's system; it was the first infill station in the BART system.

In this San Francisco travel video guide, I travel to San Francisco, California, one of the most scenic cities in the United States, if not the world. In town for a conference for only four days, only one of which was going to be sunny, I headed out to see as much as I could in a day. I started my day by visiting the Haight-Ashbury district, San Francisco's most famous neighborhood. Ground zero for the Summer of Love, this neighborhood's bohemian past is still evident as you walk around the area, though things have changed quite a bit. Next I headed to the Mission District, San Francisco's "It" neighborhood right now. Home to a large and varied immigrant population, cheap rents have lured many a young and hip individual to the area, evidenced by the artisanal chocolate shops, used book s...

It is difficult to believe that this lively, cosmopolitan city is under constant threat from earthquake, the only rumble being that of the famous cable cars as they vie up and down the city's hilly roads. A boat trip is a great way to see Fisherman's Wharf, various maritime museums, the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz, former home of Robert 'The Birdman' Stroud, Machine Gun Kelly and Al Capone. Built in 1776, San Francisco's first stone building, Mission Dolores, still stands today. Led by the Franciscan Padres, the Christianized Indians built a church, in the cemetery of which many of the city's original settlers were laid to rest. ...
