And spoilers!
With the final movie in the Hunger Games series coming out on November 20, I wanted to talk about something that’s been bothering me since Mockingjay Part 1: the way in which Finnick’s confession of being a sexual abuse survivor was handled. How was it that this scene had such gravity and significance in the book but was so forgettable in the movie? And why is it so important Finnick’s story be heard?
Despite this I’m still very excited for Mockingjay Part 2.

Fenwick, East Ayrshire
Fenwick is a village in East Ayrshire, Scotland, UK. In 2001, its population was 863.
Fenwick is the terminus of the M77 following its extension which was opened in April 2005, at the beginning of the Kilmarnock bypass.
The Fenwick Weavers' Society was founded in Fenwick in 1761 and is considered one of the first co-operatives in the world.
Fenwick Parish Church dates back to 1643, with Rev. Geoff Redmayne currently overseeing its leadership. The Primary School in Fenwick currently feeds to Loudoun Academy in Galston.
The two main areas of Fenwick are High Fenwick and Laigh Fenwick, referring directly to the area of housing and community at the top of Kirkton Road and the area of housing at the bottom.
John Fulton Hall is in Fenwick, located next door to the Fenwick Medical Practice (which relocated from the rear of the local newsagents in the 1990s) and the Mirage Hair Salon. The Post Office (which is located on the Main Street) used to be located next to Waterslap but also moved closer to the main hub of the village in the 1990s. The old location of the Post Office has been taken over by Fenwick Fine Foods. The Fenwick Hotel used to be Best Western Hotel but now runs independently. The Kings Arms pub is located a few houses up from Jessie's Store, the longest-running single-owner private establishment in Fenwick. MacFadens Car Garage is located next to the former Church of Scotland Nursing Home, Dunselma. Dunselma has been closed and the building demolished. Hall House opposite Fenwick Fine foods delicatessen and coffee shop is a Nursing Home.

The Hunger Games
The Hunger Games is a series of three adventure novels written by the American author Suzanne Collins. The series is set in The Hunger Games universe, and follows young characters Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark.
The novels in the trilogy are titled The Hunger Games (2008), Catching Fire (2009) and Mockingjay (2010). The novels have all been developed into films, with the film adaptation of Mockingjay split into two parts, the second of which was released on November 20, 2015. Soundtracks have also been released for each film. The first two books in the series were both New York Times best sellers, and Mockingjay topped all US bestseller lists upon its release. By the time the film adaptation of The Hunger Games was released in 2012, the publisher had reported over 26 million Hunger Games trilogy books in print, including movie tie-in books.
The Hunger Games universe is a dystopia set in "Panem", a country consisting of the wealthy Capitol and twelve districts in varying states of poverty. Every year, children are chosen to participate in a compulsory annual televised death match called The Hunger Games.

Catching Fire
Catching Fire is a 2009 science fiction young adult novel by American novelist Suzanne Collins, the second book in The Hunger Games trilogy. As the sequel to the 2008 bestseller The Hunger Games, it continues the story of Katniss Everdeen and the post-apocalyptic nation of Panem. Following the events of the previous novel, a rebellion against the oppressive Capitol has begun, and Katniss and fellow tribute Peeta Mellark are forced to return to the arena in a special edition of the Hunger Games.
The book was first published on September 1, 2009, by Scholastic, in hardcover, and was later released in ebook and audiobook format. Catching Fire received mostly positive reviews, with reviewers praising Collins' prose, the book's ending, and the development of Katniss's character. According to critics, major themes of the novel include survival, authoritarianism, rebellion, and interdependence versus independence. The book has sold more than 19 million copies in the U.S. alone.
A film adaptation of the novel was released on November 22, 2013.

Plot: A year after winning the 74th Hunger Games, Katniss Everdeen and her partner, Peeta Mellark must go on what is known as the Victor's Tour wherein they visit all the districts. But before leaving, Katniss is visited by President Snow who fears that Katniss defied him a year ago during the games when she chose to die with Peta. With both Katniss and Peeta declared the winners, it is fueling a possible uprising. He tells Katniss that while on tour she better try to make sure that she puts out the flames or else everyone she cares about will be in danger. But unfortunately she fails to do that. So Snow decides to enact what is known as the Quarter Quell, the right to make a change to the Hunger Games, which he is allowed to do every 25 years. He decides to hold an edition of the Hunger Games wherein previous winners will compete again. Their mentor Haymitch thinks their best chance to survive is form an alliance with some of the others. They decide to align themselves with Finnick and his partner, Mags. But Snow is secretly hoping Katniss will be killed.

With the final movie in the Hunger Games series coming out on November 20, I wanted to talk about something that’s been bothering me since Mockingjay Part 1: the way in which Finnick’s confession of being a sexual abuse survivor was handled. How was it that this scene had such gravity and significance in the book but was so forgettable in the movie? And why is it so important Finnick’s story be heard?
Despite this I’m still very excited for Mockingjay Part 2.

Our dependency on energy is threatened by two realities: dwindling supplies of fossil fuels and rising levels of environmental pollution. With this in mind, alternative sources of energy are increasingly being turned to, including the technologies to harbour these. Various national and international targets have been set, focusing upon the limiting of climate changing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing the uptake of renewable sources of energy -- and Scotland is no exception.
The use of both solar and wind power are first of all considered as a means to facilitate the above scenario, focusing upon the application of solar photovoltaic panels and wind turbines for the generation of electricity and thermal water heaters for the provision of hot water in our homes and buildings.
These systems are evaluated in terms of their dynamics, structure types, strengths and weaknesses, plus a reflection of their current levels of adoption and potential for future application. The financial incentives offered at Government level to help encourage the uptake are also assessed, including that of the feed-in tariff and renewable heat incentive.
Leading on from this, the co-operative approach to renewable energy is thoroughly examined in which to achieve scale, manage risk and raise capital -- whilst maintaining the benefits locally.
A co-operative entity is one which is owned and controlled by the members, who can be employees, businesses or consumers. It has been observed that those countries adopting the co-operative approach, with individuals and societies getting involved and working together, have the greatest success with regards to renewable energy (Energy4All 2010). The three main business models which can be best applied to this sector are subsequently detailed; namely the co-operative consortium, employee owned business and the community co-operative.
The line of reasoning for the co-operative movement is strengthened by real life applications of the three models, including the Boyndie Wind Farm Co-operative in Aberdeenshire, Eaga in Newcastle, and the Edinburgh Community Energy Co-operative. Further consideration is given to the Isle of Eigg as a model community for renewable energy. Discussion is also accompanied by interviews with two business associates currently operating in the co-operative sector.
The co-operative model can be adapted to suit all types of situations, regardless of only two or two-thousand people being involved.
The video concludes with some final food-for-thought, in which to engage with the audience and help with the identification of areas within their own lives (business and personal) where co-operation could apply.
