Work-based academic education is on the rise, fuelled by industry 4.0 and increasing the demand for higher level skills. Apprenticeships that combine higher level qualifications with on-the-job training not only help create a supply of skills that businesses need, but also offer alternative progression routes for young people into higher level occupations and professions.
