A screenplay writer, screenwriter for short, scriptwriter or scenarist is a writer who practices the craft of screenwriting, writing screenplays on which mass media such as films, television programs, comics or video games are based.
Screenwriting is a freelance profession. No education is required to become a professional screenwriter, just good storytelling abilities and imagination. Screenwriters are not hired employees, they are contracted freelancers. Most, if not all, screenwriters start their careers writing on speculation (spec), meaning they write without being hired or paid for it. If such a script is sold, it is called a spec script. What separates a professional screenwriter from an amateur screenwriter is that professional screenwriters are usually represented by a talent agency. Also, professional screenwriters do not often work for free; whereas amateur screenwriters will often work for free and are considered "writers in training". Spec scripts are usually penned by unknown professional screenwriters and amateur screenwriters. There are a legion of would-be screenwriters who attempt to enter the film industry but it often takes years of trial-and-error, failure, and gritty persistence to achieve success. In Writing Screenplays that Sell, Michael Hague writes "Screenplays have become, for the last half of [the twentieth] century, what the Great American Novel was for the first half. Closet writers who used to dream of the glory of getting into print now dream of seeing their story on the big or small screen."
Love Matters (Chinese: 幸福万岁) is a Singaporean film written and directed by Jack Neo and Gilbert Chan, and produced by Neo Studios, mm Studios and Grand Billiance.

Jeremy lives a colourful life, colourful in reference to his long list of girlfriends. “Never to commit” is his motto for love. Benny has just school life, his only vice is anything to do with the computer, his only distraction is his crush, Jennifer, his classmate’s girl.
Bo Seng & Jia Li the old fashion couple has more misses than hits in the love department and a series of madness spin off one night.
Jeremy meets Benny’s teacher, Ms Wong - a lady, unlike the wild things he has had. His charm wins him her heart, but his Casanova means refuse to take a back seat, a new lady friend threatens to change his life …
Quentin Jerome Tarantino (/ˌtærənˈtiːnoʊ/; born March 27, 1963) is an American filmmaker and actor. His films are characterized by non-linear storylines, satirical subject matter, an aestheticization of violence, utilization of ensemble casts, references to pop culture, their soundtracks, and features of neo-noir film.
Tarantino grew up as a devoted film fan and worked at Video Archives, a video rental store, while training to act. His career began in the late 1980s, when he wrote and directed My Best Friend's Birthday, the screenplay of which formed the basis for True Romance. In the early 1990s, he began his career as an independent filmmaker with the release of Reservoir Dogs in 1992; regarded as a classic and cult hit, it was called the "Greatest Independent Film of All Time" by Empire. Its popularity was boosted by his second film, Pulp Fiction (1994), a black comedy crime film that was a major success both among critics and audiences. Judged the greatest film from 1983–2008 by Entertainment Weekly, many critics and scholars have named it one of the most significant works of modern cinema. For his next effort, Tarantino paid homage to the blaxploitation films of the 1970s with Jackie Brown (1997), an adaptation of the novel Rum Punch.

Holocaust Denier David Irving rose to prominence as a historian who refused to believe in the concentration camps of Auschwitz. The case has now been made into a major film, Denial, which opens this week in the UK. Emily Maitlis spoke to its scriptwriter David Hare about parallels with now. Luke doesn't sleep. The only time he is dreaming is when he is writing, because this is where any worlds, characters or stories can be created. Your imagination is the limit, not the budget in this case. He has written three musicals so far, none of them set in High Schools or staring Zac Efron. But they do feature orphans, wizards, and time travel. When he isn't writing he is producing on film sets whilst and is currently completing his third year of a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Screen) at Flinders University. Luke is very ambitious and he hopes to gain more experience and potentially start his own production company in the near future.
