Daniel Stephen "Danny" Sugerman (October 11, 1954 – January 5, 2005) was the second manager of the Los Angeles-based rock band The Doors, and wrote several books about Jim Morrison and The Doors, including No One Here Gets Out Alive (co-authored with Jerry Hopkins), and the autobiography Wonderland Avenue. Sugerman began working with The Doors when he was 12 years old, starting out answering their fan mail. By the age of 17, Sugerman replaced the original Doors manager, Bill Siddons, shortly after Morrison's death in 1971.
Sugerman attended Westchester High School in Los Angeles, where he regularly authored articles about The Doors in the student newspaper. He graduated in 1972. He later went on to manage Ray Manzarek's solo-career and first album. He was also Iggy Pop's manager for a period, and produced his song "Repo Man", before they both ended up in California State mental hospitals suffering from drug and alcohol addiction. He also wrote Appetite For Destruction: The Days of Guns N' Roses in 1991. He helped film director Oliver Stone with the production of the 1991 movie The Doors.
Danny may refer to:
James Douglas "Jim" Morrison (December 8, 1943 – July 3, 1971) was an American singer, songwriter and poet best remembered as the lead singer of The Doors.
Because of his songwriting, wild personality and performances, he is regarded by critics and fans as one of the most iconic and influential frontmen in rock music history, and because of the dramatic circumstances surrounding his life and death. In the latter part of the 20th century he was one of the popular culture's most rebellious and oft-displayed icons, representing generational gap and youth counterculture. He was also well known for improvising spoken word poetry passages while the band played live. Morrison was ranked number 47 on Rolling Stone's list of the "100 Greatest Singers of All Time", and number 22 on Classic Rock Magazine's "50 Greatest Singers In Rock".Ray Manzarek said that Morrison "embodied hippie counterculture rebellion..." Morrison was sometimes referred to by other monikers, such as "Lizard King" and "King of Orgasmic Rock".
Wonderland Avenue: Tales of Glamour and Excess, first published in 1989, is the personal memoir of late author and The Doors' publicist Danny Sugerman, who went on to manage the emergence of Ray Manzarek's solo-career and first album. It is one of several books Sugerman wrote about The Doors.
In the book, Sugerman recounts his life, beginning with his privileged but troubled childhood in Beverly Hills, which he asserts set the stage for his later self-destructive addictions and behavior. According to his autobiography, after the premature death of his adolescent friend and "teacher", Jim Morrison, Danny Sugerman become friends with and then went on to manage Iggy Pop, before they both ended up in Californian State mental hospitals suffering with severely excessive drug and alcohol addiction syndrome.
Wonderland Avenue covers the first eight years of Sugerman's show business career, commencing with his first job at age 12 opening the Doors' fan mail, and concluding just beyond his 21st birthday, when he is a frail and severely drug-addicted mental patient who has been given less than a week to live. His exposure to the decadent music industry world of parties, groupies, and drugs at such a young age would facilitate a relentless heroin addiction [among other addictions] that nearly killed him. Notable in the book is Sugerman's close personal friendship throughout his adolescence with late Doors frontman Jim Morrison, who served as a kind of mentor to Sugerman, and his post-Doors activities in L.A attempting to manage the flagging career (and supervise the behavior of) an increasingly unstable Iggy Pop. This section of the book reads as "the blind following the blind".

The Jim and Pam story, as told by Danny Sugerman (the John Miller or rock tales). With no witnesses left and no evidence to disprove his theory's, the ex Doors gopher turned manager gives damaging testimony about the Admirals son. Heroin is sometimes called "smack" and in France we'll call it "French Smack". Inspired by Dave McGowan's epic series "LC The Strange and Mostly True Story of Laurel Canyon and the birth of the Hippie Generation".

Wonderland Avenue by Danny Sugerman Ebook PDF Click http://bitly.com/1Rt2vEy Author: Danny Sugerman Publish: 1993-08-01 At the age of thirteen, Danny Sugerman- the already wayward product of Beverley Hills wealth and privilege- went to his first Doors concert. He never looked back. He became Jim Morrison's protégé and- still in his teens- manager of the Doors and then Iggy Pop. He also plunged gleefully into the glamorous underworld of the rock 'n' roll scene, diving headfirst into booze, sex and drugs: every conceivable kind of drug, ever day, in every possible permutation. By the age of twenty-one he had an idyllic home, a beautiful girlfriend, the best car in the world, two kinds of hepatitis, a diseased heart, a $500 a day heroin habit and only a week to live. He lived. This is his tal...
