A bridge is a structure built to span physical obstacles without closing the way underneath such as a body of water, valley, or road, for the purpose of providing passage over the obstacle. There are many different designs that each serve a particular purpose and apply to different situations. Designs of bridges vary depending on the function of the bridge, the nature of the terrain where the bridge is constructed and anchored, the material used to make it, and the funds available to build it.
The Oxford English Dictionary traces the origin of the word bridge to an Old English word brycg, of the same meaning. The word can be traced directly back to Proto-Indo-European *bʰrēw-. The word for the card game of the same name has a different origin.
The first bridges made by humans were probably spans of cut wooden logs or planks and eventually stones, using a simple support and crossbeam arrangement. Some early Americans used trees or bamboo poles to cross small caverns or wells to get from one place to another. A common form of lashing sticks, logs, and deciduous branches together involved the use of long reeds or other harvested fibers woven together to form a connective rope capable of binding and holding together the materials used in early bridges.

Creative Commons (CC) is a non-profit organization devoted to expanding the range of creative works available for others to build upon legally and to share. The organization has released several copyright-licenses known as Creative Commons licenses free of charge to the public. These licenses allow creators to communicate which rights they reserve, and which rights they waive for the benefit of recipients or other creators. An easy-to-understand one-page explanation of rights, with associated visual symbols, explains the specifics of each Creative Commons license. Creative Commons licenses do not replace copyright, but are based upon it. They replace individual negotiations for specific rights between copyright owner (licensor) and licensee, which are necessary under an "all rights reserved" copyright management, with a "some rights reserved" management employing standardized licenses for re-use cases where no commercial compensation is sought by the copyright owner. The result is an agile, low-overhead and low-cost copyright-management regime, profiting both copyright owners and licensees. Wikipedia uses one of these licenses.

An Internet Protocol address (IP address) is a numerical label assigned to each device (e.g., computer, printer) participating in a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication. An IP address serves two principal functions: host or network interface identification and location addressing. Its role has been characterized as follows: "A name indicates what we seek. An address indicates where it is. A route indicates how to get there."
The designers of the Internet Protocol defined an IP address as a 32-bit number and this system, known as Internet Protocol Version 4 (IPv4), is still in use today. However, because of the growth of the Internet and the predicted depletion of available addresses, a new version of IP (IPv6), using 128 bits for the address, was developed in 1995. IPv6 was standardized as RFC 2460 in 1998, and its deployment has been ongoing since the mid-2000s.
IP addresses are usually written and displayed in human-readable notations, such as 172.16.254.1 (IPv4), and 2001:db8:0:1234:0:567:8:1 (IPv6).

Plot: Middlesbrough; sometime soon. Mayoral Candidate Ronnie Lord is on the verge of victory because of his popular stance on law and order and anti-social behaviour. His tough solutions are backed by the public; he's a 'local lad' and knows what he's talking about. But Ronnie has yet to play his trump card; a groundbreaking law and order initiative that would see every young person between the ages of 11 and 17 'tagged' and surveyed 24 hours a day. Ronnie hopes that the proposal will seal his victory while the secretive businessmen, Harris and Bridges, hope that the production of these surveillance devices will seal their fortunes. There's much at stake. And Harris and Bridges demand that Ronnie is above reproach, that he's seen to be 'whiter than white,' that there'll be no scandal to bring him down. And there isn't....not, that is, until his daughter, Sabrina, falls in love with 'Grangetown Lad,' Carl, whose best mate, Mark, has just been murdered in a drugs feud. What Harris and Bridges don't know is that Carl is just an ordinary lad trying to make a good reputation in a bad area. They don't know and they don't care. They know they have to act to preserve Ronnie's reputation and their own profit and so sanction a series of events that lead to more murder and chaos. It's against all this that Carl and Sabrina's love has to survive.

Plot: A foreword warns against the peril of yellow journalism, and the story illustrates it by following events in the upstate New York town of Cornwall after prominant financier George Ferguson is killed. Two types of New York City journalists descend on Cornwall, one interested in facts, the other in getting sensational "news". Mrs. Ferguson is known to have been friendly with a local banker. The Fergusons quarrel the evening he is killed (by "burglers", his wife tells the police later), and she is arrested, spurred on by the "bad" journalists, who also manage to badger the banker's wife into the hospital. Meanwhile, young Bruce Foster runs the Cornwall Courier, and shows the big city reporters how to dig out real news while they attempt to subvert justice for their own ends.

Let down. This one won't happen
Night fell. Left us crashin'
Day breaks. There's no room for mistakes
Act fast. Hide your feelings
Truth played its part in stealing
No need. I want everything else
You took the words right off my tongue
Learned how to say them while we're young
And while the world is turnin'
Take time off while we're learnin'
I'm here to say the least
Don't get caught up in the thick of it, baby
Caught up in the thick of it, baby
Close call. The night's unfolding
Your word is all I'm holding
We're here. No chance for a reprieve
Wrong time to win me over
I'm in no shape to cover
Don't let my heart go straight to your head
You took the words right off my tongue
Learned how to say them while we're young
And while the world is turnin'
Take time off while we're learnin'
I'm here to say the least
Don't get caught up in the thick of it, baby
Caught up in the thick of it, baby
No bets. You want who you shouldn't get
Your eyes are a spinning set that take their time to break
Your sight is set on this lonely night
The loneliest girl in black and white, reads black or white
You're in. Not only because you're him
The loneliest boy I've seen, boy I've seen
You took the words right off my little tongue
Learned how to say them while we're young
And while the world is turnin'
Take time off while we're learnin'
I'm here to say the least
Don't get caught up in the thick of it, baby
Caught up in the thick of it, baby
And while the world is turnin'
Take time off while we're learnin'
I'm here to say the least
Don't get caught up in the thick of it, baby
